-------

dear diary, he wrote out neatly in his journal. today was a tiring day, he suddenly chuckled softly to himself. it's not really different from any other day. before he could even continue writing the next sentence, he felt a presence next to him.

"why are you still here?" a voice, very familiar to him, asked.

the blue haired boy chuckled, "am i not allowed to be here?"

"it's not that," the redhead scoffed. "anyways, back to the question. do you have an answer?" the said redhead unconsciously smirked.

"now that you asked that, i don't really know." the bluenette smiled. "i don't know if it's the peaceful breeze that seeps through, or if it's the fact that i've left many memories here, i just do-" the boy was then cut off by his friend.

"or if it's the sun's afterimage." this time it was the redhead's time to smile. looking straight ahead, he saw the sight he loved so much. his smile unconsciously grew bigger.

"i knew that you love the sun's afterimage, karma. care to tell me why?" the redhead glanced at his friend, his mercury eyes half lidded. this caused the blue haired boy to blush slightly and look away.

"nagisa, look at me." karma caught nagisa's chin between his fingers. "nobody's ask me that, why did you want to know?" karma then looked into nagisa's blue eyes, staring into his soul. their faces centimeters apart.

"i-it's just th-that i want t-to be c-closer to y-you k-karma-kun." the blue eyed boy stuttered, looking down on his notebook.

"well if that's it," karma said, letting go of nagisa's chin, "i would like to tell you the reason why." the redhead said as he sent nagisa one of his genuine smiles. "i never told anyone this so you better not too." the bluenette just nodded, as if saying to go on.

karma exhaled a long breath of air. "it's just whenever i see the sun's afterimage, or so the sunset's afterimage, i remember my life as a kid. you know, the good times where you're not worrying about anything. especially worrying about how to kill your own teacher." karma then let out a chuckle. "because it was the first thing i saw when i first opened my eyes into this world."

"then it also reminds me of the hard times." karma looked forward, sadness present in his eyes. "i'll tell you in the right time, alright nagisa-kun?" karma looked at his friend, then he softly smiled at him. "i just want to watch the sunset, for now." the redhead then reverted his gaze at the sight in front of him.

"o-okay." nagisa said as he smiled softly.
