Kazuhi POV

"Fuck..." I whined at the constant throbbing in my back. Fucking idiot.....no pun intended. An entire day later and I'm still feeling the effects of that drunken idiot.

"Yo Kazuhi-chan!" Souji smirked coming under the curtain. "Yo," I said quietly. "What no bark?" He smirked and I grabbed his fringe, "Do you want me to slam your head into the counter again?" I hissed, glaring at him.  "N-no." He said and I let go. "You're finally learning. So what do you need today?" I asked. It's the same routine every day.

"Medicine, there was a fight or two last night and some of our guys are a little cut up. Plus your father's nose has only turned yellow." He laughed. "That means it's nearly healed, right well I can give you a few things to clean the wounds and bandage them."

"Oh also, both our medics are out of town and it's only Chizuru-chan, could you possibly come and help for the day?" He asked. "Me in the Shinsengumi headquarters?" I smirked. "Do you really think that's smart Okita-Kun?" I smirked.

"Well, we'll have to see. Close up shop and come on." He said so I shrugged, guess I could ruin my father's day for a little fun. Hastily I close up shop and filled my medicine box with supplies then began following Souji, my sword at my side. He glanced at me, pecked my cheek quickly and ran ahead laughing, "STOP KISSING ME BASTARD!" I screamed as he bolted towards his troop.

"Where'd you get that anyway?" He asked and pointed to my sword once we began walking to the headquarters.  "It was my grandfathers, I had to repair it and it took me a long time but I brought back its shine and it's good as new," I said fondly. He nodded approvingly.

Behind us, his troop whispered and I heard everything but pretended not to notice. "She's Hijikata sans daughter? She looks so much like her father. Do you think she's as demonic as him?" I chuckled at the last one. Probably. Or worse.

Reaching the gates of the headquarters, soldiers gasped at the sight of me. I smirked, these men are weaker than I thought if a simple almost decapitation of their vice commander will scare them. Pfft, wimps.

"Chizuru chan!" Souji yelled and a short brown haired girl came running. "Hai Okita-San?" She glanced at me, received a glare and ducked her head shaking. What is a scrawny girl like that doing here?

"This is Kazuhi Hijikata, she's very skilled at applying medicine and concocting it so she will assist you today to tend our wounded. Alright?" He said and she nodded.

"Please follow me Hijikata-San." She said. As we walked through the headquarters, I got scared looks and glances from men and terrified side glances from the quivering Chizuru. "T-these are our sick and wounded. After our most recent battle, some men were hurt so please be quiet and gentle." She informed me and I nodded. "Of course Chizuru, may I ask why you stay with the Shinsengumi?" I asked as I opened my medicine box.

"They are helping me look for my father. He went missing over a year ago now." She said and headed towards a sleeping man. Turning around there was a small boy with a frizzy ponytail who I recognized. "Toudou-Kun isn't it?" I said and dropped beside him.

"Kazu- I mean Hijikata-San!" He choked. "Kazuhi is fine," I said and he nodded. "It's strange calling you by your father's name." He said as I wrapped his arm. "That's why I said Kazuhi is fine," I emphasized the Kazuhi part. He nodded mutely as men stared all around us.

".....What!" I snapped after a while, "Come on, spit it out!" I said. And the door slid open. My father choked at the sight of me and I smirked. "Hijikata-San," I said and he sighed.

"Kazuhi..." He trailed off. "I don't believe we are very close, or friends actually. I believe it's Hijikata-chan to you." I smirked and he rubbed the bridge of his yellowed nose. Oh, I love pissing you off, dear father.

She is actually my goals, I freaking love Kazuhi. Warriors my exams are next week! I have my last mock tomorrow! Damn damn damn!

Kazuhi: I could kill your teachers if you'd like?

Me: No, thanks for the offer but reckless murder in the Modern world is illegal.

Kazuhi: Tch, how boring.

Me: .....psychopath.....
