Niall's POV
"So I told Esme about dinner and she totally ignored the idea." Jett told me after I got done changing. I was glad to be back in normal clothing for once. "Really?" I questioned with my eyebrows furrowed, searching for my petite girlfriend. She was pretty short for her age, so she stood out easily. That, and her amazing smile that you could spot from miles away.
After searching, I see her and Jack in a very dramatic conversation. Even more confused, I make my way passed the people as I watch Jack storm out when their dad comes in to the picture.
"What's wrong?" Him and I say at the same time. I refrain myself from giving the dirty look and the harsh words I've been dying to share with him, especially wise being in front of Esme.
"Mom left and he did too." The words slipped out of her mouth.
"Come on, sweetie," her dad said as he takes her arm. "let's go find him."
"No!" She glared, pulling away from him. "YOU did this! Like I said, apologize a million times, you won't be forgiven so easily! I don't want to be in a empty house with you alone."
"You can't go anywhere else." He said, trying not to scream. "I'll stay with you." I blurted out, obviously not caring for her dad's opinion.
"No you will not. I let you out of jail and now you want to sleep over? Isn't that too much?" He stated as he loosened his tie.
Before I could say anything that would've just been pure hate, Esme wrapped her hands around my waist, resting her head on my chest. "God," she whispered. "I've never felt so safe."
"You know I'll always be here for you, like you were here for me." I whispered back as my arms draped around her shoulders. "I'd take a bullet for you, babe."
She looked up to me, with the brightest I've seen her smile in weeks. "Even if you say he can't stay, it's either going to make me sneak out or him sneak in. Your choice."
He clenched his jaw, glaring at the both of us before saying, "Fine, but you are not to try a single thing with her, you hear me?"
"And who's to say I haven't already?" I smirked with one of my arm still wrapped around her shoulder. Esme immediately started to die with laughter, pulling me to the front doors before her dad could try to punch me. You say he couldn't do such a thing in a court house, but if you witnessed the look on his face, your opinion would change.
"You've got your keys, right? Bobby told me he brought your car over for you." Esme said, running her hand through her hair. I answered with dangling my keys and beeping my car open. As we got in, I held on the wheel, staring at the darkness in front of me. "Fuck." I muttered.
"What?" Esme asked, trying to see what I was looking at. "The bitch is gone and I'm free. I've never been so happy in my life!" I chuckled, starting the car. "Well, I'm glad one of us are." She sighed. I looked over at her but back at the road before taking her hand into mine and kissing her knuckles. "I want you to stop worrying. You've done so much and it's time to be the teenaged Esme again." I declared, squeezing her soft hand.
"Ugh, I dunno if I can! It's just--"
"BLAH. NO DRAMA." I yelled, turning the radio on to none other than Mirrors by J. T himself. Esme giggled, poking my cheek before kissing it and settling back in her seat, humming the lyrics to the song. This is the girl I loved to see. The one who was always caught up in thoughts. The one who sings randomly in the most random of times. The one who was always smiling even when she didn't realize it.
My Esme.

Esme's POV
"I hope these fit." I said, handing the half naked Niall some of Jack's clothes.
His partial nudity didn't faze me since he usually had his shirt off around me, and it was just like him in swimming trunks. Promise we didn't do anything! It wasn't like we could. First thing was that my dad did numerous check ups, thinking we didn't see him. Then around four in the morning Jack busted in, drunk off his ass, ranting on how much he hated our dad, then how much he loved Niall and I like we were family, even though I AM his family. Then he passed out on my floor and I was just going to leave him there but Niall took him back to his room. But just for him to come crawling back, begging me to get him some water. I did so, just as return for how much he did for my drunken nights, and also kept him company as he barfed his guts up. After dragging, literally, him to bed again, I finally had the best seven hours of sleep I've ever had in a while wrapped up against my boyfriend. Niall and I were forced to get up for school because of graduation rehearsals at 12:30 after skipping the beginning of school. I'm sure it wouldn't be as much of a shocker to Mr. Johnson since was aware of everything that happened.
I also got texts from everyone questioning why plans didn't go as planned and saying that we'll all meet at the graduation rehearsal.
"Fits like a charm." He smiled, leaning in to kiss me. "Nope! No kisses when you're dressed like my brother!" I laughed, trying to run away but failed as he caught my hand and pulled me into him. "I haven't gotten to kiss you, let alone hug you, in weeks, and just because of some clothes you refuse to kiss me? Nuh uh, not on my watch."

"Alright! Is everyone lined up? Remember, alphabetical order!" Mrs. Samuels yelled, fixing kids in there spots. "Glad to see you back, Mr. Horan, but do you really think you stand next to Esme?"
Whoa, she used my first name.
"Uh, yes." Niall replied with a "duh" tone. "Really, now? Oh come on you two, can't you stay away from each other for an hour or two?" She sighed with hand on her hip.
"Or, it's Hanson, Harold, HARRIS, HORAN, Howard and then starts the I names." I rolled my eyes at her annoyance. She glared at me as she checked the list of naked before walking away with a "humph."
"Somebody didn't get laid last night." Kevin Harold snickered, making the rest of us laugh.
"This is boring! I know where to sit, I'm not stupid!" Fin complained, looking back at me from her seat. I bet Mrs. Samuels is ready to question how I'm sandwiched between "Zaynley" next. "Fiyn"? I don't know, all I know is both Zayn and West were directly behind Niall and I wise Fin and David sat in front of us. On the far side, Matt, Louis, Harry, Jett and Whinny were grouped together which only meant trouble and everyone knew it. If they could, they would all be far away from each other as possible, but "alphabetical order is key."
"I bet ten dollars something's or someone's going to mess it up anyways. It's us they're dealing with." Kyle Howard said with us agreeing. We were a mess, especially with Luke here, we could get away with murder as long as you were on his good side. They were already planning senior prank right after graduation since there's going to be more people in the school, and most of the guys were in on it. Apparently there was a "no girls allowed" rule because I forgot we were in fifth grade again.
"Alright everyone! I think we've got everything straightened out. Remember graduation is this Saturday, only people with graduation tickets are allowed in and don't forget your gowns! Formal attire only!" Mr. Johnson said on the mic. "You're dismissed."
With my ears filled with cheers, I exited out along with everyone else. "Can you see it? In just a few days we'll be finished with high school." Fin said, linking arms with me. "We've came so far, and now it's all just over."
"Erm, Finny? Before you get too excited, there's some things you need to be filled in on." I mumbled earning a odd look from her.
*
"She's coming back, I know she is." Fin reassured me, turning into Olive Garden's parking lot. It was a obvious choice since it was the closest and best place near school and I ride alone in Fin's car to get there.
"Why can't I be happy for at least two seconds?" I groaned. "Babe, stop moping around! You're making yourself feel bad, just let things run there course. If they divorce, they divorce. You don't have to take care of everyone's issues." She said, smacking my arm.
"I don't care if they divorce, I want them to! I want my mom to be with someone she can trust, someone who won't leave her to do all the work. I'm worried about Jack and what's going to happen to him! He's still sixteen, almost seventeen, but he's still under age and what if he goes with my dad? I won't be here to be with him if I'm going on my trip earlier than expected, and if the divorce is messy, he won't let my mom see him." I explained.
"Stop looking at the bad, Esme! If they're aware of your dad's bad history and the fact he's never home, they won't give him full custody! That's not to happen, you hear me?" She yelled as we got out the car.
"Will you come with me to see her?' I asked in a soft voice. "Duh, you're my sister and that means I'll do anything for you." She smiled.

The last time I visited my grandma was after my incident and my patents thought I wasn't going to live. Yeah, they thought I'd try something stupid again and succeed this time, hence the overbearing father, so they forced Jack and I to spend a weekend with her incase I didn't see her again, and that was my grandmother's idea.
She resided in the suburban area, lots of trees and less noise than ever. Her house was huge, being in the family for generations and all. I swore it was haunted but my nana wouldn't have it.
"What if she's not there and she lied to Jack?" I asked, getting nervous when Fin ramped her knuckles against the door. "Then we go to your place, watch chick flicks and eat ice cream." Fin shrugged and I knew she was serious. It wouldn't be the first time we did that.
"Hello how may I--. Esme? Dammit, why did Jack tell you where I was? I knew if you had the slightest idea of where I was, you'd coming rushing over with a big speech." My mom sighed, opening the door for extra space to let us through. "I know you don't want your father and I to-."
"Divorce, I don't care. That's what I wanted to tell you, I don't care. He offered to push up my trip and to pay for everything, so I could really care less what you choose to do with him. He's a piece of shit and doesn't deserve you. I wish I had told you sooner though, so you'd move on quicker. I'm here to say if you do so happen to divorce, I want to make sure Jack stays with you." I told here bluntly. After having a heart to heart with Fin, I realized she was right. It's not my issue and it wouldn't really affect me. But I'd do anything to make sure my baby brother wasn't with our horrible father.
"Of course he is, I won't stop fighting if he isn't!" She nodded, folding her arms to her chest. "Niall, he's free I presume?"
"Yeah, he actually spent the night. Jack ran off after talking with you and I didn't want to say with dad alone." I filled her in. "Oh please, it wouldn't be the first time I've heard you two talking on and on in the early mornings in your room. But I trust you to make the right decisions and I'm sorry for not believing in you before. You've always put your heart in everything you strive for, and that's something I adore about you." She
smiled, squishing my cheeks.
"I can't believe all they did was talk, though." Fin muttered making my eyes widen and my mom double over in laughter. "You live to make my life awkward, huh?" I glared at her and she raised her arms in defeat.
"Katherine dear, who is at the door?" My nana's voice called from upstairs. "Who are these young ladies?"
"Mom, it's Esme and her friend, Finley." My mother said, pointing to us. Nana looked at us in confusion, slowly coming down the stairs to face me. "You're not my grand daughter. My grand daughter is the sad and sickly little girl who has pain written all over her face." Nana stated making me cringe. I was THAT bad before, and it was completely readable.
"Well my life took a change for the best and I'm no more any if those things." I pretended to smile, slightly caught off guard with her description. But that was the old Esme.
"Esme, honey, I'm so proud!" She hugged me, more like squeeze but I wasn't bothered by it. "You've grown so well, one beautiful lady."
"That means a lot, thanks Nana." I kissed her cheek. "I've got to go home even though I really don't want too. But Finny's staying over this time abd Jack's there, so I won't be alone. I'll see you two flawless ladies later!"
"Quickest visit of my life and I'm not complaining." Fin said when we reached her car. "I'm proud of you."
"Thanks." I grinned. I was proud of me too; of how evolved I became. From a "the sad and sickly little girl who had pain written across her face," to the strong, independent and happy girl I am today.

The Kissing Booth (Niall Horan FanFic)
FanficHigh school was duh, high school. NO ONE WANTED TO GO. It was hell that every teenager had to wake up at 5 in the damn morning, and go through annoying teachers. Even though a few may be cool. And if you're friendless I wouldn't be surprised if you...
