The Conversation

Studying the potato a bit further in his hands, Gilbert noticed extra words carved rather neatly for being written on a potato. "Notice me Senpai...?" He mumbled softly, reading aloud as the dial tone rung in his ear.
The phone on the other end picked up crisply. "Y-yes? Matthew Williams speaking."
Gil's heart took a pause and picked up its pace as he started speaking. "Uh yeah...so you're the one who threw this potato at me?"
A long pause followed before he heard one word.
"...yes."
Gilbert decided to bring up a sudden topic in his mind. "Say...do you have...purple-ish eyes?"
The voice in the other end gave a slightly audible gasp before replying slowly. "Y-yeah..."
Gil knew for a fact this wasn't the Russian guy from his soft voice and light Canadian accent.

Gilbert's heart exploded with confetti.

"By the way...Senpai has been noticing you for a long time now..."
