I woke up with an aching back and sore shoulders. During the night, I must have fallen over, because my head was sitting on Tyler's shoulder. Quiet snores echoed through the small grey room. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, a yawn escaping my chapped lips.
The faint scent of coffee filled the room. Strange, the door wasn't open, so it wasn't coming from the kitchen. My eyes darted to the corner of the room, steam catching my eye. "Morning Raven." Monti smirked, bringing the mug to his lips.
"Fuck off." I stood and walked to Jordan's closet, grabbing a handful of his 'hidden' chocolates. Monti chuckled slightly before placing the coffee on the floor. "Since when have you hated me? If I recall correctly, at that party four months ago, you liked me a little too much."
I turned to him, dropping the chocolate. "You are a fucking liar! I didn't not willingly do that! You got me fucking wasted to the point where if I sneezed I would piss my pants!" Tyler stirred in his sleep, but Josh bolted upward. He jumped up and immediately walked in front of me, puffing out his chest. "Back off man. This isn't funny anymore."
Monti's face pulled into a twisted smile as he looked at the floor. "You're right. I guess I'll go. But not before one thing..." In a swift motion, he jerked forward and swung his fists at me, catching me in the cheek. He swung again and hit me in the eye, forcing me back and on to the floor. The sound of me hitting the floor must have been extremely loud, because everyone, well except for Peter, jumped and started to scream. Tears trickled down my face, along with blood.
Monti continued toward me, even when everyone was attempting to stop him, violently kicking and punching me. His boot connected with my head and I fell backwards. My head snapped back and hit the floor, everything going black.
"Andrew Patterson, you're under arrest for the murder of your daughter."
"Guys! Help her! Loren!"
"Mom! Mommy, please stop them!"
"Loren....please....wake up!"
"I won't let you remember this. Go, get in the car."
"Loren, it's me, Tyler. Please, wake up. We're at my house now, your mom said it was okay if I brought you here."
"Mommy? It's raining, why are we driving?"
"Careful Tyler, do you need help?"
"No, I've got her.""Mom! Watch out!"
My eyes shot open and I sat straight up, breathing heavily. "Mom!" I yelled. My head was pounding and my shoulder hurt like hell. A voice shushed me and pushed me back, slowly easing me on to the ground. Well, not the ground. Someone's legs.
"Loren! You're awake! Oh my god....you scared me." Tyler sighed and placed his forehead against mine. "What happened?"
"Monti.....he brought something up that he shouldn't have. A little disagreement is all." I looked around to see who all was there, I knew I heard another voice. Josh sat quietly on Tyler's bed, a look of concern plastered on his normally happy face.
"Little disagreements don't normally end in someone getting the life beat out of them. Please, why can't you tell me?" Tyler pleaded, his thumb stroking the side of my face. My head hurt when he did that, like there was a bruise or something. I looked to Josh, who must have heard the conversation when he some up. He began to shake and a tear rolled down his face.
"Can I speak to you in private? I feel more comfortable like that." I sat up and Tyler nodded as I waved Josh over. I gave him a quick hug before he walked out of the room. I checked that the door was locked before I sat on Tyler's bed, taking a deep breath. My hands shook as I parted my lips to speak.
"Monti....he...h-he....m-m-Monti...." I stuttered. Tyler sat next to me and placed his warm hand on my back, telling me to take deep breaths through my nose. "One night, four months ago, Monti and I went to a party together. It was at one of his friend's house and he wanted a tag a long, so I came. It was late into the night, midnight maybe, and Monti kept giving me alcholic drinks. It's bad enough that we're under the legal drinking age. It was weird, I was completely wasted, but I still remember everything. We we're dared to play Seven Mintues in Heaven, which turned out to be Seven Minutes in Hell. Against my will, I had my purity taken away from me. Tyler....Monti raped me."
Tears suddenly poured down my face and a pair of arms were thrown around me. I was rocked back and forth like a frightened child, and it was quite soothing.
"Loren...I'm so sorry. You didn't deserve it. He's a terrible man." Tyler whispered. It sounded like he was telling himself these things. He was sobbing just as well, mumbling words that were muffled by my hair.
"Don't be sorry. Not even Amber knows about this. Josh overheard it and tried to protect me. And when I was out, I could hear you Tyler. I heard you talk to me. But when I didn't hear you, I heard my mom's voice. I heard a police officer's voice. I saw my dad be taken away and my mom drive the car in the rain, she crashed into a tree." I blurted, closing my eyes. Tyler pulled me close to him. "What if it means something? I don't remember anything before I was seven."
"Maybe it does mean something. Maybe it was simply a dream. All I know is that you need to rest." I lay back on the bed, curled up in the fluffy covers. Tyler layed next to me, his arm wrapped around my waist as I flipped on my side. He set his head on my shoulder and quietly hummed a song.
My eyes started to quickly close when I became comfortable. Tyler shifted under the covers, and just before I fell asleep, he said something.
"I love you."
