"Chug, chug, chug, chug!" The crowd cheered as Malaki, my boyfriend Nate's best friend, downed a pitcher of beer. Nate's arm was around me and I was laughing along with everyone else. After the container was completely empty, he threw it to the ground and banged on his chest like Tarzan.

"He's going to be regretting this tomorrow!" I shouted to Nate over the music.

"I know! And I'm going to be the one who has to take care of his hungover ass." I drew a fake tear on my cheek to show how sad I was.

"I'm over this. Want to go upstairs?" I heard the invitation in his voice.

"Hell yes." I grabbed his hand and led him into one of the empty bedrooms.

I walked up to where my friends were sitting at their table Monday morning. "Hey, guys. Great party by the way, Holden." Holden was another one of Nate's friends, and he always threw the best parties.

"Thanks! Heard you had a lot of fun at it." He grinned at me and I blushed, sliding into the seat next to Nate across from my best friend, Alice.

"Hey, babe." Nate said and gave me a short kiss on the lips. "How is it that everyone knows everything about our sex life?"

"Dude! Where were you all Friday night? I practically got raped by Steven!" Ally scowled at me.

"I got.. caught up?" I winced.

"Gross! TMI!"

"Oh, shut up. You were lovin' all over Steven." Malaki poked her cheek from where he was sitting next to her.

"I didn't think you'd remember that considering you were chugging beer all night long." He just laughed her off.

"All the puking and Advil was worth it." The rest of lunch consisted of my friends teasing each other, and Nate poking my stomach.

"Do you have a problem?" I turned to him irritably.

"I haven't kissed you since Friday!" He whined.

"You just kissed me twenty minutes ago."

"I mean really kiss you." He wrapped his arm around me.

"Oh, please. You're so needy." I grabbed his hand.

"You know I am." He winked at me and he and his friends started a conversation about their game on Friday. Nate was the quarterback of Grant Lee high school. I know, who would've thought the shy girl who went to one of Tanner Reed's, a graduated senior, legendary parties would catch the eye of the most popular sophomore in the class?

"Ally! I can't go in. I can't!" I started up at the death trap in front of me. The house was lit up with paper lanterns, and the smell of alcohol and drugs was thick, even from as far away as I was.

"I didn't dress you up this much for you to bail on me. You're going in."

I groaned as I stepped into the threshold. I was wearing one of Alice's red dresses that she said I looked like a "hot bitch" in and a pair of her black heels. I felt like a middle schooler who was trying to act older.

We shoved and pushed our way through the bodies in the living room and proceeded to the kitchen. "I'm going to get a drink!" She didn't offer to get me one because she knew I didn't drink. My parents had been killed by a drunk driver when I was nine. I lived with my grandparents.

I sat at the bar when waiting for her. There wasn't anyone else sitting near me, except for a guy who was siting on the opposite chair next to me. He had a hoodie on so I couldn't see his face.

After about three minutes of waiting, a junior showed up in front of me holding two plastic solo cups. "Want a drink?" The guy smiled suggestively. He had curly brown hair and dark eyes. He was cute, definitely.

"Uh, no thanks. I don't drink." I said quickly.

"Oh, that's cool. Straight-edge, huh? I'm Walter. There's Hawaiian Punch over there in that bowl. Want some?"

"Yeah, sure!" I said enthusiastically. He was cute and nice!

He poured me a cup from an orange bowl in the corner. "Hey, I have to go back to beer pong, but if you want me, I'm in the basement." He gave me a head nod and swaggered downstairs.

I was about to take a sip, when a voice stopped me. "Don't drink it."

"What?" I glanced to my side and the guy was turned towards me. Nathaniel Palmer. Heir to the Palmer Co. industry, JV quarterback, and so-said model for Calvin Klein. (I found out later that wasn't true, though it was possible.)

"Don't drink the punch. They spike it." He turned away from me.

"Oh. Thanks." I pushed the cup away from me.

"Yeah, no problem. I'm Nate, by the way."

I gave him a shy smile, "Cassie."
