"Go Nate!" I screamed from my place in the stands of the football game. The football had just been passed to Nate, and he was running with the ball. Right before the touchdown, a huge linebacker tackled my boyfriend, and they tumbled down together. I bit my lip. Nate always told me not to worry when he got hit, but how could I not? Two hundred pounds of pure muscle slamming into him? I shuddered.
There was two minutes left in the game, and I clasped my hands together. The score was 29 to 24. We were in the lead, but one screw up could lose us the game.
Thirty seconds left. The other team had somehow gotten the ball, and they were making a run for it. Malaki tackled him, and I grasped my chest. I hardly understood football, but I knew the basics, and right now, I knew that if the team got a touchdown now, we would lose.
Fifteen seconds.Five.
"Woohoo!" I leaped out onto the field with the rest of the fans. Nate was in the middle of a pack of revolting, red-faced boys. As soon as I reached him, I grabbed him by the jersey and kissed him. He was all sweaty and gross, but I endured it. "You smell like shit."
"Shut up." He shot back and kissed me again. "Did I do good?"
"Eh. You could work on your technique a little." I teased.
"Okay, coach." He slung an arm over my shoulder. "Want to go for food?"
"Def. I'm kind of in the mood for pizza. Just us?"
"Of course. Pizza Hut? I'll pay."
"You're the best."
"That's why you love me." Our laughter was interrupted by Candice, who strolled up with her two friends in tow behind her.
"Hey, Nate! Great game." She gave him a sly smile.
"Uh, thanks, Candice." He pulled me a little closer to him.
"So, the girls and I are going out for milkshakes at Sugar Delight. You in? You can even invite your.. friend." She gave me a (fake) bright smile.
"We were just going out for pizza. So thanks, but no thanks." I grabbed Nate's hand. "And actually, I'm his girlfriend."
"Actually, I didn't ask you." She practically growled.
"Too bad, I answered." I spun around and stalked off, winning the last word, to my delight.
"Cassie! Wait up!" I was still fuming when Nate caught my arm. "Cass, what's wrong?"
"What the hell do you think is wrong, Nate?" I facepalmed. Boys were so clueless.
"Okay, okay, I know Candice made you mad. But it's okay! We're fine. She's just desperate." He grabbed my face in his hands. "Are you okay now?"
I nodded. "She's just such a bitch. Let's make out so I can forget about it." I usually wouldn't get this jealous, but after the party, I was so done with her.
"I agree wholeheartedly." He backed me up against the wall of the outside bathrooms. Hopefully, no one would come back here. I didn't think anyone would, since we were in the wooded area behind it. "You're really hot when you're jealous."
"Shut up." Nate smashed his lips against mine, and I felt a rush of excitement, even after two years. He traced my bottom lip with his tongue, and wrestled a little bit until he bit my lip softly, and I moaned. He let out the sexiest moan I think I've ever heard, and he moved to my neck, biting, kissing, and sucking.
He left a trail of fire where his lips touched my skin, and I brought him back up to my face. "I love you, you know that, right?"
Nate pulled back, kissed my nose, and replied, "I love you too."
