I woke up to find Nate staring at me, his blue eyes swimming with hidden thoughts. I turned around and yawned sitting up in his bed. I rubbed my eyes and the bed shifted and Nate stretched. "What time is it?" I asked.

"Dunno." He looked at his phone from his beside table and his eyes widened. "It's 8:30."

"Shit!" I looked disdainfully at my pile of dirty clothes on the floor. "Do you have any of my other clothes I left here?"

"Uh, you can check my closet. I probably do." I rushed to his walk-in and started opening all the drawers. "Aha!" I took out a pair of leggings, and grabbed a smallish sweatshirt. "You didn't throw away my toothbrush, did you?"

"No. It's in the drawer underneath the sink." He poked his head out of the bathroom. "I'm taking a shower if you want to join."

"Kay, just let me text Nana that I'm okay." She was going to freak.

After I texted her that I was with Nate, I walked into the already humid bathroom. I dropped my clothes and stepped into the glass chamber. "No funny business, we don't have a lot of time."

"No promises." He grinned at my and pulled my waist to him, giving me a small peck on my lips. I grabbed the back of his head and pulled him more firmly against me but he laughed against my lips, moving back. "We don't have a lot of time, remember?"

"Dick."

"I think I'm going to tell Ally. I need my best friend." I whispered to Nate as we walked down the hall.

"Whatever you think is best." He gave me a tight smile. "I'll talk to you at lunch?"

"Yeah, sure. Love you." I gave him a quick kiss before entering my second hour. "Sorry, Mr. Dixon."

"Take your seat, Cassie." He barely looked up from his stack of papers. "We're completing a packet. Due at the end of the hour. Graded."

"Right." I stared at the multiple pages of World History questions. "How exactly do we answer these?"

"Your textbook, of course. Get on the ball, Ms. Sinclair."

"She already has. Plenty of times." Someone said in the back and the entire class giggled.

"What was that, Mr. Cage?"

"Nothing at all." Jake Cage. The school asshole. On and off again boyfriend of Candice. He was a linebacker for the football team, which meant he was sort of friends with Nate.

"Yeah, what was that, Jake? I couldn't hear you over the sound of your bullshit." I fired at him.

"What are you, deaf? I said that you've been fucking Nate."

"Jake! Go to Mrs. Romero's office right now! And don't come back." Mr. Dixon stood up rapidly, his handsome face turned down in a frown. Mr. Dixon was a younger teacher, and a cute one at that. Most of his classes included teenage girls. "You too, Cassie. I will not tolerate cursing in my classroom."

I got up, breathing hard. "Dick."

"What was that? You're sucking dick now?" Jake guffawed. I forcefully grabbed my books, stuffing my packet into my bag.

As I stormed down the hall towards the doors, Jake called from behind me. "We have to go to the office, hothead."

"Why? Do you want to talk about our feelings? I always knew you had a soft side." I turned around and faced him.

"After you, milady." He leaned against the office door and held out a hand.

I pushed past him, bumped his shoulder along the way. "Don't talk to me."
