Lizzie's POV:
I listened to his steady breath, ad my hand rested on his arm. Tears silently fell as I watched him, waiting and hoping he would be alright. Soon, I fell asleep as the toll of exaughstion caught up to me.
I awoke to movement. "Ugh...." Joel opened his eyes and groaned, seemingly from pain. "...What happened....Lizzie..." He muttered, trying to sit up. Without another thought, I got the doctor and they swarmed him. After they had, a doctor pulled me aside. "He will be fine. There should be no lasting injuries or ill effects from the surgury." The doctor said in a gentle voice. "Thank you." I said, walking back to him I took my spot.
Joel's face lit up slightly as he saw me again. "Joel I'm so happy your awake." I said, my fingers intertwined with his hand. "I'm happy to see you again, Lizzie but what the hell happened?" He asked, his eyes were full of curiosity. I took a deep breath and began to explain.
