Chapter eight- Don't cry because of me.

Ladybug/Marinette's pov:
I wake up to a beeping sound right beside me. I turn my head to see what the strange noise was coming from and I start to feel a pounding in my head, I wince and see that the beeping noise was from the hear monitor.
'Why and I in the hospital...?' I think to myself and then remember getting beaten at school.
A few mumbles interrupt my thoughts and I look out the door, expecting to see a doctor or a nurse. But I see Adrien, Juleka, Rose, Alya, and Nino come in. I smile weakly and give a little wave.
"H-i Gu-ys." I try to speak but my voice gives out on me.
"Marinette I'm so glad that you're okay!" Alya shouts, practically screaming. I wince and she stops.
"Sorry." She apologizes, I nod, saying that it's okay and she smiles.
"W-we brought you f-flowers..." Adrien says, clearly choking back tears. I frown and he looks up at me and rubs his arm, then sets the flowers in a vase full of water so they don't dry out.
"I'm sorry she did this to you...Marinette." Adrien says as he wipes his eyes.
"It kills us all to see you like this." Rose says, Juleka then nods in agreement.
"What she did was uncool, very uncool." Nino states, of course he's using 'cool' in his sentence. Practical.
"D-i-d sh-e g-et pun-ish-ed?" I ask, my voice going crazy while trying to speak.
"Sadly, no." Rose says.
"Ugh I'm gonna kill that bit-" Alya begins to say but Nino cuts her off.
"Alya, don't use those words, please we're in a hospital."
"Whatever." She says, rolling her eyes.
As soon as Alya finishes her word, most of the visitors leave, well actually everyone. Except Adrien...
"I'm sorry Marinette but I tried to help. I just wasn't strong enough to do so." He apologizes, I then shake my head.
"Adrien y-ou do-n't hav-e to ap-olo-gize." I try to say.
"I feel terrible, Marinette. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here right now."
I sit up and wince in pain. He walks over to me and caresses my cheek.
"Be careful." He says. I nod and begin to speak;
"I'll be okay. Don't worry about me."
He places a hand on my head and sighs, "Marinette I thought you died when I first saw you. You were barely breathing and you didn't have a pulse. You scared the hell out of me. I have to worry. Not worrying can lead to unwanted things. I have to care." He begins to cry, I've never seen him cry before, especially over me.
"Don't cry over me. I'm just simple Marinette. I will, be okay." I say as I take his hands and hold them.
"I'll be okay. We'll be okay." I smile and he leans down, as if he was going to kiss me, but he receives a call from someone.
He then clears his throat and says;
"Excuse me for a moment, Marinette."
With that, he steps out into the hallway, leaving me to think for a few minutes.
'Was he going to kiss me?' I wonder, 'Does he really care that much about me?' I sigh and he walks back into the room.
"I'm sorry for that, my fathers assistant Nathalie wanted to know where I was. Is it okay if I...stay overnight here? So I can watch over you and help? I don't want you to be hurt anymore." He asks, blushing and I blush as well.
"S-ure. Th-ere I-s a c-ouc-h ove-r the-re." I say, pointing to the corner. He nods and walks over to it and takes a seat. "Thank you Marinette."
"No, thank you. Adrien." I say as I drift off to sleep.

Hello everyone! Oh my god. I already have SO many reads on this. It's crazy! I'm so sorry for such a short chapter but I promise the next one is going to be longer and much better. What did you guys think? Do any of you have any suggestions? If so, feel free to comment!
