Harper's POV

"Harper! If you don't wake up now you're going to be late for school!" My best friend and Beta calls from the bottom of the stairs. I live on the top floor of the pack house and no one, but me and my mate can live on this floor. That is, if I ever find him.

"No need to shout Barry. I was already up," I said as I walked out of my office.

"How on earth do you get up before the butt crack of dawn when you stay up all night working? I would go into a coma," Barry said incredulously.

"Easy. I'm the Alpha. I do what I have to," I say with a grin. Even though I was the Alpha, I could just be Harper around Barry.

"How could anyone be upset with that face," he grabbed my face and smushed my cheeks until they were blocking my view.

I didn't protest. I just took his hands and pulled them up behind his back. It didn't take to long for him to ask for mercy. I don't like it when people touch my face. Or any other part if me really. I think the only time I wouldn't mind someone touching me was if I was kicking their ass. That would be fun.

The only exception I could think of would be my mate. If my mate touched me, no matter the circumstances, I would happily accept it.

"Hey! Earth to Alpha, Come in Alpha, Do you read me, Over!" Barry was trying to get my attention, because I had spaced out again. I had been daydreaming about my mate for a while now. Maybe he was close?

"Yeah, Sorry Barry. Let's just go to school. I want to get this day over with, so I can work on renegotiating the peace treaty with the neighboring pack," I said as I was walking out of the door. I had taken more care with my appearance today. I just felt like I should look good today.

I was wearing dark skinny jeans with a lacy white crop top and some black converse. I had actual make-up on my face and wore my only ring. My grandmother had gotten it for me and it was the only thing that I had left from her. My hair was a lost cause, but I tried to straighten it out today.

Barry rode his bike to school, while I got in my baby. My baby was a 2014 Honda Accord that was just the right shade of blue. I know what many people think when they see my car. "Oh my gosh! Is that pack that poor?" No our pack is not poor. I love this car and it was a gift from my parents for my sixteenth birthday. They hadn't gotten to give it to me, but I found it in the garage with a note on the front dash.

The ride to school was very short, because we only live about 20 minutes away from the pack house. As I pulled up and got out of the car, I started to smell something. It was really good. It smelled like cinnamon and apples. When I started to follow my nose, I found the source of the mouthwatering scent. A boy. To be more precise, two boys. Twins. And they were my mates. I immediately told Barry who sent to chain message down to the rest of the pack that the boys were not to be harmed and that they were special to the Alpha.

They both looked incredibly alike, but I could tell the small differences in them. Although their hair was the same honey blonde color, one boy's eyes were light blue and the other's were a shade darker. If a human saw them they would not be able to tell them apart, but to a wolf, it was simply a matter of looking hard enough.

They had yet to notice my presence. As I took more care in smelling their scent, I discovered the reason for their obliviousness. They were human. They must be the new students that were to start here this year. Now that I new that they were not a part of a pack, I looked at them closer. I saw a bruise on one of my boys' cheeks that was poorly covered in make-up. I also saw how the other boy was favoring his left leg.

Someone had hurt my boys. I was livid and so was my wolf. She wanted their blood almost as much as I did. I had been waiting for my mate for years and someone had the nerve to harm what was MINE!

To start, I put a security detail on them in the school and also told them to follow them wherever they go. When they are at home, I want eyes and ears inside as well. Until I know who hurt my boys, everyone is a suspect. My pack members run this school, so it was simple enough to get them to rearrange me and my pack warriors schedules to match my boys. I had it all taken care of before I walked into the school.

Taking a deep breathe through the nose to keep their scent in my system and calm me down, I walked over to my mates to introduce myself.

"Hey, I'm Harper." Keep it simple and don't freak them out.

"Hi, we're Aiden and Noah," they said in sync. I just about passed out from butterflies right then.

"You're new here, right? Would you like me to help you to the front office to find your schedule's?" I took another deep breath, praying that they said yes.

"That would actually be really good," Aiden replied.

     "Yeah, thank you," Added Noah.

I beamed at their response, and took each of their hands in one of my own. They gasped, feeling the sparks of the bond come to life. It was a way to tell your soul that it's missing piece is within arms reach.

"I guarantee you are going to love it here. I will help with anything you need. Just let me know," I promised, kissing their cheeks in turn. Their stunned expressions turned to awe as they followed me to the office.

I wasn't letting my boys go anytime soon.
