Aiden's POV

She was a wolf. We were her mates. I was in a relationship with a girl that turned into a wolf and my twin brother. Obviously I was insane.

After she had told us everything and showed us her wolf, she said that we could go shopping and make our statement later. Harper looked kind of guilty. I guess from her wolf scaring us earlier.

She told me and Noah that we could go up stairs and have some time to ourselves. We hadn't spent much time together without Harper since we met her yesterday.

Harper was in her office doing some work for the pack. I don't know what exactly Alpha duties consist of, but it must be hard work for how tired Harper looked when we came to her office to tell her about Noah's leg.

Honestly, when I saw her eyes turn black, I didn't know what to think. Then started smelling us and it looked like she was checking for more injuries. When her eyes changed back to green, I felt so relieved but I was still confused.

She told me that she would explain later, but that she wanted us to get looked at first, so I went along with it. She seemed genuinely worried about us. When the nurses had to restrain her, she still wouldn't stop trying to get to Noah as they reset his leg. I tried what had changed her eyes back in the office and let her smell me.

I put my hands on her face and she stilled. When she took in my scent, she relaxed a fraction and stopped resisting the nurses. By that time, Noah was done and the doctor did a check up on both of us.

We were fine except for being underweight. Harper didn't like that because her eyes almost changed again.

Right now, Noah and I were just trying to process what had happened within the last forty-eight hours.

We had gone from living in hell, to having everything we could ever want, because of Harper. If she said that she wouldn't hurt us, then we knew that she wouldn't hurt us. I think at this point she could say that the sky is purple with yellow polka dots and we would agree with her.

"I still trust her. She has been nicer to us and has taken care of us more than our so called parents ever have," I told Noah.

"Yeah. Me too. I just feel like I'm dreaming. Everything is so crazy. Supernatural beings live in this house. And we are supposed to be fated to one of them," Noah sounded like he was still trying to wrap his head around it. "And it not like Harper has ever done anything to make us not trust her. She is even giving us space right now! I think that we have died and gone to heaven. There's no way that we belong to such an angel."

"Do you want me to pinch you and show you that you're awake?" I offered.

"Yeah. Actually I would. Prove that this isn't a dream," Noah sounded desperate. Like if it was a dream, then he wanted to wake up now before he dares to hope and wound up back at that house with our monsters haunting us again.

I leaned over and pinched the sensitive skin on the underside of his arm. He came unglued.

"Dude! What the hell, Aiden!" Noah was rubbing his sore skin as I rolled on the floor laughing.

"Well, now you know you're not dreaming," I pointed out still laughing.

He stopped cussing me out and suddenly grinned like a crazy person.

"I'm not dreaming! I'm not dreaming! I am not dreaming!!! Whoo-hoo! I'm awake! I'm awake!" Noah started celebrating and doing a weird dance thing. Not that he could move around too much. He couldn't put his leg on the ground.
