I woke up and walked down the hall to see mom sitting at the kitchen table reading the newspaper," what's new mother?" I asked hoping she wouldn't have the same little episode she did last night, and she didn't. " Oh! Ha you scared me Leigh, I was just looking through the comics." She smiled," enough about me, how did you sleep sweetheart?" She said, I was so confused. I honestly don't think mom remembers what happened last night." I slept fine mother." I smiled at her and hesitated but finally I asked," did you sleep well mother?" She stared at me and didn't say a word. She was gonna have another little fit, I could feel it. She buried her face in her hands," honey, can you go outside and play or something, mommy needs a break." I nodded my head and walked to the door as I went outside I could have sworn I heard mother walk to her room. I didn't dare turn around I walked straight to the sand box and began making something close to a sand castle. I heard the door open to the house and turned to see mom standing there," Don't play in the sand box, any where but there." She yelled. I was now wondering why she didn't want me to play in the sand box, I watched her disappear into the house and the door slam shut behind her. After I knew she wasn't in sight I began digging around in the sand box, letting my hands feel around at the bottom of the sand box, until something scraped my hand it hurt but I didn't yank back my hand, afraid I would lose it. I wrapped my hand around what ever it was and yanked on it hoping to pull up some kind of treasure. Instead a door flung open and there was a small opening in the sandbox, all the sand began filling in the hole, so I grabbed a bucket and started throwing all the sand out, until there was barely any sand left in the box. Soon a small wooden box came into view in the small hole so I leaned down and scooped the box out of the hole. Scared of what might await me if I told my mom, I sprinted through the house and into my room before locking the door behind me. The only thing in the box was a couple pictures of a somewhat familiar face, a girl, that deep down I knew I knew her, but from where? I was definitely wanting to ask mom about the girl in the picture but I knew if mom told me to stay out of the sandbox and I told her I found something in the sandbox I could be in some serious trouble. I sat in my room and looked at the back and front of every picture trying to find a name for this mysterious girl. I finally gave up and picked up the photos in one big scoop and put them back in the box, then I shoved the box under my bed. I turned around to see a photo laying on the floor, one I may have accidentally left, as I picked it up, I realized it had a faded name on it,Kadie. It sounded familiar, my moms name was,Sadie, and I do recall my mother talking about a girl named Kadie. I decided I needed to ask mom, so I headed towards her room. *knock*, " mommy can I show you something?" *knock**knock* I kept knocking on the door but mom didn't answer. I walked into the kitchen to see mom pouring a cup of coffee.
