Realization

Lecey's P.O.V

After running ahead for a little while I gained vision of the exit the trail held.

I then decided to start walking the short distance to the basketball in hopes of Kyle catching up right as I would step foot on the court.

But I eventually stepped foot on the paved court and waited a few minutes.

I stared at my phone as I was fiddling with stuff on my Instagram and seeing if there was anything interesting.

After a good 3 minutes, I looked up and at to see if Kyle were coming out of the trail yet. Still there was nothing.

Where the hell is he? He is pretty fast so he should've been ere already. Maybe something happened to him. Maybe he got a call from someone. Hmm...

I kept thinking to myself as I kept wondering what was taking so long.

I was tempted to go and look for him but right as I started considering that, I caught sight of his figure running behind the trees and brushes.

Eventually he came into my full view and quickly sprinted to the court.

He then stopped to take a breath.

I raised my eyebrow and kind of smirked as he eventually looked at me and said, "Dang it, I'm the rotten egg I guess!"

I laughed and said, "Dude! I've been waiting here for like five minutes! What took so long!?"

He hesitated and said, "Well I kind of tripped and banged my knee on a rock on the ground. I had to walk because it hurt pretty bad at the moment. But now it's fine. I think" he ended with a chuckle.

"Since when did you get hurt or let something like that happen? I mean I know your lying!" I said boastfully.

He sighed and then but his hands over his heart. "Alright alright, ya caught me. I didn't trip or hurt myself or any of that. Something pretty weird happened. Look we can talk about this after school or some other time." He ended as he looked at his watch.

"Oh shit, we got seven minutes till we are late!" He said as he then got a grip on his backpack and started running off to the school.

"Ugh." I said as I rolled my eyes. "But you better tell me soon! Promise?" I yelled out to him as I too started running.

"I promise, just don't mention it much unless I mention. Aight?" He said as he looked at me with a demanding look on his face.

"Fineeeee" I said jokingly.

Kyle's P.O.V

We eventually got to the main entrance doors of Grissom High School.

We slowly walked in as many other students were cramming themselves through the door as well.

"I'll see ya in science later on?" I asked Lecey.

"Naw I'm just gonna avoid going to science and other classes today just to not see your face!" She said as she winked her right eye at the end. She then disappeared into the crowd of teens.
