Kyanna's P.O.V.
"I told you to stay at the campsite!" I yell at him. He looks surprised that I'm this angry. "I could have converted you, I could have killed you! Doesn't that matter to you?"
My anger vanishes as I notice something.
I smell blood. His blood. I pull away and look at him. My eyes stop at a blood patch on his arm that is scarily still. "No! Tell me no!" he drops his gaze. "I'm sorry." I whisper. "It's too dangerous. You should stay away from me!" he brushes my hair gently from my face. "I'll love you no matter what." he promises, "And I'll always be here for you, even if it gets me killed." He says the last part with a grin.
I shake my head slowly, my eyes filling with tears. "If a human gets scratched or bitten by a half changed werewolf, your blood calls to the unfused wolf spirits."
He looks alarmed as he realizes what I said. "You mean...?"
"You could be converted." I confirm, as tears spill out of my eyes.
"But you had a full change, it wasn't half." He points out.
"But I don't remember..." I trail off as a word pops into my head. I do the first thing that makes sense. I say it "Maledicti."
His eyes widen slightly as he asks a question "That means cursed, right??
I nod in confirmation. "So it was only a half change." As I speak the words, I can hear the song of the wolf spirits. As if by reflex, I tip my head back and join them, when I remember that I don't want them to come. I snap my mouth shut abruptly. "Sorry." I grab his hand and drag him back to the campsite.
"Uriah!" I call, as he and Krissa walk back into the campsite.
"Hi." He replies.
Just then, Kyren and Krissa collapse to the ground.
Uriah carries Krissa over to me, and I can't control myself anymore; I tip my head back and join the song of the wolf spirits, calling them to us.
