I feel a hand clamp over my mouth and muffle my song.

Shaking it off, I see that it was Uriah. He has already opened a portal and is in the process of trying to drag me through. Oh. Right. I'm not supposed to be calling them. I'm supposed to be helping Kyren escape them and get through initiation. Oops.

I jump through the portal just as Uriah's energy starts to drain and the portal snaps shut. I give him an apologetic look. "Sorry."

He shrugs and kneels beside Krissa's unconscious form.

I drop to my knees, as well, beside Kyren.

His chocolate brown eyes flutter open, and I hear the song again. I resist the urge to join and reveal our location this time.

Kyren sits up and looks at me. "Where am I?" He wonders aloud.

I respond with a simple "Initiation." everything will be explained to him later.

I gasp his hand tightly as the room begins spinning. My eyes lock with his, and I forget the rest of the world. That is, until he realizes that we're spinning uncontrollably and he goes as white as a sheet. I pull him into a hug and feel him tense and break away as we hit the ground, landing hard on our feet.

"I guess you're ready." I tell him.

"Ready for what?" he demands.

"You're ready to go through initiation and join your team to begin training."

"What team?"

In answer, I call up a deeply buried memory and take his hand, transfering it to him. He closes his eyes, and watches my initiation and the explanation after it.

When his eyes open, the memory is returned to me, and I wince as I am forced to relive it.

Shaking my head, I feel the air change. The first process of initiation.

"We're about to face your worst fear." I inform him, hesitating only for a moment before adding "And mine."
