LOVE IS PATIENT AND KIND

Brocus paced outside his arrival gate. He'd spoken to Donovan to confirmed he was on the way, but he explained that he was stuck in traffic. "Hold on Babe I'm close" he'd begged. Brocus smiled he'd assured him he would wait but where else would he go? Donovan was his only reason for being here.

They've planned that he would play the piano and sing before Donovan's sermon. He was excited it had been forever since they'd been together on the road. In the early days of Donovan's minister duties they were the dynamic duo during visits to other churches. He didn't have words to express how much he'd been missing Donovan. He didn't even have anyone in his life that he could trust in discussing their relationship, so it was an internal suffering in just kept his feelings to himself.

Brocus has been grinning and bearing situations with Donovan for so long that he didn't know any other way to function. He could admit that he'd had thoughts of walking away from Donovan and had even tried but he loved him. The image of him without Donovan scared him, he doubted there would ever be anyone to fill the void he would leave behind.

He'd often have dreadful periods of depress when it would occur to him that one day he would look back on his life and regret all the time wasted on waiting for Donovan. So, his future was not examined much he just resided in the here and now. It made his life much more livable and a lot less depressing.

Brocus wanted a family. His parents bugged him about getting married or at least having a girlfriend. His excuse of not being ready had long ago worn thin, he was twenty-seven years old. He could admit that it looked odd to not even date, but he couldn't just go through the motions of dating. He didn't have the energy to carry on an imaginary relationship or to pretend he liked being single. He'd been pretending with Donovan since he was a teen, he deserved to be more than someone's secret.

His mom would whine that she would never have grandchildren. So, he felt the pressures of being a single man in a heterosexual world and in the church that's what you better be or die a metaphysical death.

His career hinged on the church. Sure, he had a degree in finance and he and Donovan were secure financially but music was what fed his soul. Writing, producing and arranging music started as something he did for the church it just came naturally. When he started getting attention from other churches and request from local gospel artist to produce tracks it became lucrative. Now he received offers from other churches to come direct their choirs regularly and during times of doubt about his relationship with Donovan he was truly tempted but always declined offers.

Brocus stopped pacing as a midnight blue Camaro pulled up to the curb. He smiled broadly as Donovan emerged from the car. "Hey." Donovan greeted him with a grin.

Brocus voice caught in his throat at the sight of him. He looked scrumptious. His 6' 5" frame was clad in dark navy jeans and a crisp white oxford. His ray bans and black loafers completed an already stunning man. "Hey." Brocus gasped.

Donovan walked over to him and wrapped him in an embrace. He whispered in Brocus ear. "I want to kiss you so badly babe. Come on let me get you some where private." When he released Brocus he smiled broadly. Brocus watched Donovan walked away, he continued to admire his ass while following behind him. Donovan opened Brocus door and waited until he was seated and belted then closed the door. He walked around to the trunk and dropped Brocus bags inside and then to the driver's seat.

The drive to hotel was quiet they were both a little nervous considering they hadn't traveled together in what seemed like forever but Brocus felt that Donovan was a little more nervous than necessary.
