Prologue.

PROLOGUE

Stepping out of the shower, I stumbled a little catching myself. My legs still felt like jello from last night due to Marcus. Marcus is my stepdad who rapes me whenever he gets the chance. It's just sad-sick-disgraceful.

I stepped out of my bathroom and slipped on my Hollister shirt. I slide on my black skinny jeans, and my black and pink Jordans slipping my hair into a ponytail flowing down my back. I grabbed my backpack, and sprinted downstairs. Including me sprinting past everyone in my household. I left out the house, and walked straight to my bus stop.

Oh, I didn't introduce myself? I'm Maya. Maya Streeter at that. Living out here in these Chattanooga streets isn't safe. Everyone always think "Oh Chattanooga weak" or "Oh Chattanooga small, and ain't gone do shit!" Well, you got that all wrong. Chattanooga ain't "weak" at all. I've lived here for most of my life. I stood at the bus stop impatiently waiting on my bus to come.

"Aye Maya! You got a nick on ya?" this one crack head, Georgia asked. I looked in my backpack. Yes, I am a hustler. There's no need to judge me. I have my legit reasons. "Here Georgia-now, where's my money?" I held my hand out with the coke in my other hand. "Oh, uh Maya, see what happened was-I don't have the money not quite right now but-" I cut her off. "Not good enough bitch," I growled. "Now, c'mon Maya. Don't be like that toward me. You see I need it!" Georgia pleaded. I put the coke back in my bag, and pulled my small handgun out. "Georgia, I'd advise you to leave, and if you want some of my selling, then come back with my money," I growled. She looked at me in fear. I could tell all in her eyes. She was afraid-very afraid. She ran away after she'd heard what I had to say. Woo, I swear these crack heads.
