Has anyone ever wondered why peanuts are call peanuts?

A pea is a small, round, and normally wrinkly ball.

A nut is food inside of a shell that usually has high calories and fat, but is still healthy.

So shouldn't peanuts be small, round, high in calories and fat, and slightly wrinkly?

But they aren't, so we have been lied to.
