"Well, Stephanie pushed me against the wall, harshly, and threatened me to back off of the new kid. I pushed her away and she came at me, trying to punch me but I dodged it. Then I punched her and walked away." Jade explained simply, shrugging her shoulders afterwards. Mr. Garcia smiled then nodded slowly.
"You're good to go then, Jade. Have a good day." Jade smiled at him then walked out of his office and back to her class but before she left, she looked over her shoulder at her uncle and winked, then she made her way back to class.
~~~
"Miss Fey!" Jade looked up at the teacher who just screamed her name. She smirked once she saw the teacher's raging face.
"Yes, Mrs. Black?" Jade smiled sweetly afterwards making the teacher glare at her. "Pay attention in my class and quit doodling on your paper!" Jade sighed then put her feet on her desk, laughing she replied.
"Okay, sorry about that ma'am." Jade heard some quiet giggles from behind her, causing her to smirk as Mrs. Black stomped towards her.
"Feet off the desk!" Jade once again laughed and didn't move any muscle. Mrs. Black sighed then told Jade to go in the hallway and to not come back. Jade just smiled as she walked towards the door. Before walking out she turned towards the class, "Hastalavista!" Using the pun used by The Terminator, Jade received many laughs from the group of students and a hard glare from the teacher.
Once Jade was outside in the hallway, she leaned against the smooth stone wall and slid down it. She rested her head on her knees and hugged them. A few minutes of silence went by until she heard footsteps. She shot up immediately, fixed her posture, standing up and leaning against the wall. Once the footsteps got closer she turned her head in their direction.
Of course it had to be the new kid. He strutted down the hallway with his head held high. Jade rolled her eyes at his cockiness. "Why are you out here?" She scoffed as he stopped in front of her.
"Oh, I got kicked out. You?" Jade laughed, the sound echoed throughout the hall. "I got kicked out too. Why did you get kicked out?" He smirked then looked down the hallway towards the school's main entrance.
"Just giving the teacher a hassle." She laughed then pushed herself off the wall. He just stared at her as she walked.
"Well, I'm leaving. See you around?" Jade asked, sweetly. He just nodded. Jade flashed another smile then continued to walk away. Easton reached out and grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him.
"Wait, where are you going?" Easton asked, there was a mysterious look in his eyes. Jade smirked, "To the coffee shop down the road, would you like to go." Easton grinned, not smirked but grinned, showing all of his perfectly white teeth. "Of course I would. We can walk since it's just down the road." Jade smiled then continued her walk with Easton.
As they walked the ten minute walk all they did was get to know each other. Their favorite colors, hobbies, favorite sports, anything that came up. Jade felt comfortable with Easton and he felt the same way, both of them could share anything without being judged. Jade had this connection where she could trust him, which was odd for her.
The coffee shop was almost empty. Only a few people were here, conversing. The intoxicating smell of coffee beans roamed around the room, invading everyone's senses. They sat down in a small booth that had maroon cushioning and wooden siding. The seat was next to a window so they could overlook the busy street. Jade sat on one side while Easton sat across from her. The waitress came over as soon as we sat down and got comfortable. The waitress was younger and beautiful, she had caramel colored skin and dark brown hair, causing her bright blue eyes to become more visible.
"Hi, welcome to The Coffee Shop, what can I get you today?" She smiled sweetly at Jade before turning towards Easton. He had a smirk planted on his face as his eyes traveled down her body. Jade coughed, snapping him out of his trance.
"I'll have a mocha, please." Jade stated, simply. The waitress quickly wrote it down then looked back at Easton. "I'll have a cappuccino, please." Easton said before looking from the waitress to Jade. The waitress smiled at us before making her way to the counter. Jade smiled at Easton before turning her attention outside.
"So, why do you come here?" Easton's question snapped Jade out of her daydream. She slowly turned her head to face him. Should she tell him that she comes here because her parents always took her here? She might as well.
"Well, my parents and I used to come here all the time when I was younger, usually right after school. I always got their smoothies while my parents got a coffee. My dad got an espresso while my mom got a mocha. It was always something to look forward too." Her voice cracked at the end but she looked up and smiled, hiding her emotions. Easton apparently heard her voice crack because his eyes were full of concern.
"Are you okay?" He asked as the waitress set down our drinks. They both said a quick thank you before turning back towards each other, "Yeah, I'm fine." He gave me a sad smile before taking a sip of his cappuccino, I took a drink of my mocha too.
The rest of the time spent there was small talk. Nothing major. After they were done I checked the time.
"Hey, school's already out." Jade laughed as she realized it was 2:40 pm and school got out at 2:20 pm. Easton chuckled and continued walking. They walked side by side until they reached the school where they said their farewells and went their separate ways.
Once Jade got home she threw her bag down and sighed, "I'm home!" She screamed to anyone who was here. Soon after Steven, her butler, came into the living room. "Good afternoon, Miss Fey. Would you like anything to eat?" She smiled at his kindness even though it was his job. Steven was like her uncle, he cared for her more than anyone else and always knew what he could do to help.
"Hey, Stevie and no I'm good. I'm just going to watch some TV." She smiled again before plopping down on the leather couch.
Being an only child has its ups and downs. For her, there's more ups. She doesn't have to deal with an older or younger sibling annoying her nor does she have to share anything. The whole house is her's... With the exception of Steven's bedroom.
Her house is a mansion, it has three bathrooms, six bedrooms, a full basement, a kitchen fit for a professional chef, and a living room that's larger than most. The only reason why she still lives here is because it's a memory of her mother and father, even though she really doesn't need this big of a house. It's comforting and well for her, affordable. The garage is full of useless cars that Steven and Jade choose from, before you ask, yes, Steven uses the cars because she trusts him. Her favorite car is the classic '69 Dodge Charger loaded with a Hemi. It's all black with two racing stripes across the top. It's her baby.
Jade's an average high school student so she can't forget that herhouse is the main place for high school parties, especially because there's a huge pool outside.
Today is Friday and tonight there's a party at her house.
