Jade's mouth flew open once again. She looked back and forth from Wyatt and Barbara. Finally, she stopped on Wyatt.
"Your father was cheating on my mother. Our father was a cheater and we are related... Wyatt I'm your sister."

There was a long pause. Too long for anyone's liking. Everyone too deep in their thoughts to speak. Finally Jade spoke, "Wyatt, say something." She spoke quietly, her voice strained from the shock.
"I don't know what to say..." Wyatt paused, contemplating his next words. "I'm speechless." Jade nodded in understanding. She didn't know what to do now, she was so lost and deep in thought. He's your half brother, you idiot. Ask him what's going on. Jade thought as she stood there with a blank expression on her face.
"Why are you here, at this school?" Jade asked, politely. Wyatt looked down briefly before looking back up at Jade, locking eyes with her.
"My mom, she passed away. I'm living with one of the teacher's here. She's a friend of my mom's and my mom trusts her so I'm here." Jade nodded before sighing heavily.
"Which teacher are you staying with?" Jade asked quietly, almost too quiet. "Mr. Adams." Wyatt responded before getting up from the white bed. He stood before Jade, his face blank but his eyes showing fear and excitement.
"I'm going to talk to him. I'll be back. Stay here Wyatt." Jade stated, sternly, giving Barbara a pointed look. Barbara nodded, knowing the silent request to keep Wyatt in the office. Jade looked back to Wyatt, nodded, then walked out the door.
Jade jogged down the hallway, not caring about the school rules. She reached the wooden door of Mr. Adams. His name was carved into a black plaque next to the door and the number was 202. Jade easily opened the door and walked in. All eyes were on her as she continued to walk forward.
"Jade. What are you doing here? You're not in this class." Mr. Adams asked, giving her a questioning look.
"Mr. Adams, may I have a word with you?" Jade asked, not caring about all of the eyes on her as she stood in the front of the class. "Yes of course. Just give me a minute to assign them their work." Jade nodded before walking out the door.
Mr. Adams returned not long after Jade walked out. "You needed to talk, Jade?" Mr. Adams deep voice filled the hall, echoing through each path. Mr. Adams watched Jade expectantly.
"Are you housing Wyatt? Wyatt Burman?" Jade asked, she was glaring at Mr. Adams almost out of instinct. Mr. Adams nodded slowly and swallowed hard. "Yes. I am."
Jade smirked, "Not anymore. I'm taking him, he's my half brother. Have a nice day, Mr. Adams." She smiled, sweetly before walking away, leaving a dumbfounded Mr. Adams behind.
Jade was back into the nurse's office in no time. School was almost over, only a half an hour left. "Wyatt, you're coming home with me. You belong in that house anyways, okay?" Jade told him in a quiet voice. Wyatt only nodded his head.
"You kids can leave right now, I'll send you home." Barbara acknowledged and handed the two of them a slip. They both said thank you then walked out.
The way home was silent, only the soft hum of the radio was audible. Once they arrived to Jade's house, Jade easily got out of the car and guided Wyatt inside. "Welcome home, Wyatt. You can explore, find your way around. You're bedroom is upstairs, last room on the left." Jade explained simply before turning to go into the kitchen.
"Miss Fey, you're home. Would you like something to eat? Who were you talking to?" Steven came towards Jade and stood in front of her. "Yes, can you make some pancakes. My half brother is here Steven, his name is Wyatt Burman. My father cheated and got his mother pregnant. He's staying with us from now on." Jade explained simply before walking towards the black, leather couch.
"Jade! Help!" Wyatt screamed from upstairs. Jade shot up before bolting upstairs. She found his bedroom door wide open and the lights were off. "Wyatt? Are you okay?" Jade called, shakily. There was a loud bang, signaling that something fell on the floor.
Jade sprinted into the room and turned on the light. There was a man in a ski mask holding Wyatt in a choke hold. There was a knife laying the floor near them that showed signs of blood. Wyatt was struggling against the man's grasp, wiggling and moving violently. Jade jumped onto the man's back as he held Wyatt. She wrapped her arms around his neck and squeezed until the man was choking and gagging.
Jade let go of his neck and raised her elbow high, she then forced her elbow into the man's neck, forcing him to fall over, releasing his grip on Wyatt. Wyatt fell to the floor, sucking in all the air he could. Jade stood up and walked over to him, patting his back. "Are you okay?" Jade asked, showing sympathy easily towards her half brother. Wyatt only nodded because of the lack of air in his system.
Jade turned around just in time to face the intruder. He had his fist raised, ready to strike. He swung but Jade dodged it easily. She pushed his side into the dresser behind him, he fell to his knees. Jade then brought her knee up to collide it with his nose. The man fell onto his back with a loud thump. Jade sighed before bending over, onto one of her knees and clasping her fingers on the material by his neck. Slowly, she lifted it up, over the man's face. Once it was off, Jade's eyes widened and she immediately gasped.
Easton laid on the floor, blood spilling out of his nose on the carpet. His eyes slowly opened but then widened in realization of what happened. He immediately scooted himself over to the wall, his back planted on it.
"Easton, what the hell are you doing? Explain yourself now!" Jade screamed at him as she stood up and stomped towards him. She bent down next to him and grabbed the collar of his shirt, yanking him to his feet and slamming him against the wall.
"J-Jade l-let me e-explain, please." He begged, Jade's heated glare burning holes through his eyes. "Why should I let you, Easton?" She practically spat at him, her words dripping with venom.
"Please, I was F-forced to do t-this. Please Jade." Easton stuttered, his fear inching it's way into his voice. Jade sighed, letting go of his collar and forcing Easton to slide down the wall.
"Explain yourself. Now." Jade crossed her arms across her chest and shifted her weight onto her left leg, the other slightly bent as it rested on the ground.
"I'm part of the Scarlet Undead Clan, I couldn't tell you that day that you told me because I had a mission to kill Wyatt. I didn't know he had any relationship to you until today but I had to kill him or else I'm gone, dead. Jinx sent me to kill him, I joined the clan when I was 12 since I needed the extra money. I had no choice Jade." His voice was strained and leaking with emotion. He was guilty, it was evident through his voice and his face. Jade sighed before walking closer to Easton, bending down to eye level.
She reached into her back pocket and received a switch blade, she extended the blade and grazed Easton's jawline, not tearing the skin. "Don't ever touch Wyatt again, Easton or else you won't be needing to deal with Jinx. You'll be needing to deal with me. Now I suggest that you stay here, in a guest bedroom, downstairs so Jinx doesn't kill you when you get back. Just know that if you even dare to come upstairs and near anyone's room, I will kill you."
Jade put pressure onto Easton's skin, cutting his tan skin on his jawline. He winced in pain as Jade smiled, evilly.
"Now, go. I will see you in the morning, Easton. 8 A.M. Be in the kitchen. Good night, Easton." With that, Jade walked out, carrying an exhausted Wyatt in her arms.
