song for the chapter: Thnks fr the Mmrs by Fall Out Boy

Summer had texted Christian saying that she was in the library writing an essay for her Comparative English Literature class with Aaron. Immediately, Christian rushes to the campus café and buys one black coffee for himself, and a caramel macchiato for her. She's always liked her coffee sweet. After collecting the drinks, he rushes to the library he only ever enters to see Summer and easily spots her from the entrance.
"Brought you coffee, babe." he says, sitting onto the chair next to her and setting the beverages down. Summer blushes and hugs him tightly, making the loose bun on her head bobble slightly.
"Thank you!" she says gratefully and takes a sip before getting back to her paper. Although, she couldn't help but think of the call she had with her father about Christian, and her grades, and his negative influence.
"What's up, man?" he asks Aaron with a smile, who only nodded curtly and proceeded to ignore him in favour of writing his own essay for the class. Christian cocks his head to the side, confused, but shrugs it off. He shrugs everything off.
It takes Christian all of 8 seconds of balancing a pencil above his lip before he vocalises his boredom. Summer looks at him, and there are small signs of annoyance in her eyes. "You don't have to stay." she tells him and he looks at her with an exaggerated expression of offence.
"Yeah, but I want to." he says. A pause. "Well, okay, not really. But I want to be with you." he says, swaying slightly in his seat. "Ditch the work, let's hang out at the house. Putz is challenging Jason to a keg stand competition." he says excitedly.
Aaron tries to mask his judgmental distaste, biting his tongue to hold back a snarky comment about alcoholism and liver damage. Summer, however doesn't and sighs in exasperation as she looks at him. "Christian, it's 3 in the afternoon." she says sternly. Maybe dad was right, she thinks.
"Yeah, so what?" he asks, his carefree smile not wavering once.
"That's not cool, it's alcoholism. And you're not even 21!" she says. Frankly, she's grown quite tired of her grades dropping because of him dragging her to party after party in the fraternity house all night, when he can't even stay for 10 minutes at one of her parties.
Christian freezes, unsure of what to say. She's never brought up these concerns before, and he doesn't know how to respond. Aaron is trying to hide is chuckles behind his hand, clasped tightly to his face as to not make a sound. It wouldn't have made a difference, because the couple had never fought before and the rest of the world doesn't exist in this moment in time. But it's not their little bubble anymore, it's brick walls and barbed wires.
"This was never an issue before..." Christian says slowly, confused by the whole situation.
"Yeah, well that's because you're always too drunk or too high to care about what I think." she snaps angrily. If the librarian wasn't in the toilet, they would have definitely gotten kicked out.
"Well, I'm sorry for wanting to do something fun." Christian says sarcastically. "And save you from this boring crap!" he adds angrily, gesturing towards the piles of books and papers on the desk.
"That's the problem! All you want to do is fun! You're never serious!" she says, and her words bite his skin. "And this isn't boring crap, it's work. Not that you would know what that is. You know what? Just leave. I'm busy." she says, glaring at him angrily.
"Fine." Christian yells, violently pushing his chair back, making a screeching noise bounce throughout the library walls, all the students cringing and glaring at their direction. Christian doesn't care, not at all, as he marches out of the building with anger pumping through his veins.
