  I opened my eyes on Monday morning. I didn't want to move from my bed. I got up, had a quick shower, blow dried my dead straight hair and walked into my wardrobe. I grabbed out my bright blue long-sleeved crop top and my white high-waisted jeans. I applied the last touches of my mascara and grabbed my bag, walking out the door to my car and driving to school.

  I walked up to my locker, grabbed my things and headed up to homeroom. I looked around the classroom. Monique was sitting in the very back of the class talking to Steph. As I looked around again there was only one other seat avaliable and that was next to Dylan. Dylan actually wasn't such a bad guy. He may be a player but he was nice, caring, and thoughtful most of the time.

  All through English I wasn't paying attention to anything. The teacher was talking but all I heard was mumbles and it went in one ear and out the other. Until half way through class when Jake walked through the door with a note in his hand and a black eye! What!? How did that happen? Was that because of me? I felt sorry for Jake and in a way I felt guilty but I didn't know why.

  After class Dylan walked me to my locker but as we walked past a groups of guys one of the senior jocks whispered in Dylans direction, "that Jake dude has been taken care of. He shouldn't talk to Chloe anymore about this situation." 

  I couldn't help but turn my head in shock at what I had just heard. 

  "Dylan, what happened to Jake?" I asked quite suspiciously. 

  "Oh, babe, it's nothing," he said nervously, scratching the back of his head.

  I dragged him down to an empty corridor towards the back of the school.

  "Dylan, what's going on?" 

  "Umm, nothing." 

  I could tell that he was keeping something from me. 

  "Tell me, Dylan!" 

  He hesitated for quite awhile until he finally spoke.

  "I got that dude back there to beat up Jake so he wouldn't bother to you again." 

  I didn't quite believe what he was saying and I had to look like I wasn't upset by it.

  DYLAN'S POV

  "That Jake dude has been taken care of. He shouldn't talk to Chloe anymore about this situation."

  "Luke, shut up!" I whispered under my breath. Chloe turned around and I knew she had heard what Luke had said. 

  "Dylan, what happened to Jake?" 

  "Oh, babe, it's nothing." I lied. 

  She grabbed my hand and dragged me into an empty corridor.

  "Dylan, what's going on?"

  "Umm, nothing," I think she could tell I was lying. 

  "Tell me, Dylan," she said firmly.

  I hesitated for a second and after a while I finally spoke.

  I explained to her the whole story and what had happened. Thankfully she seemed to be okay with it.

  JAKE'S POV (earlier today)

  "Hey I found him!" I heard someone yell from behind me.

  I turn around to see who was yelling, but as soon as I did, five huge guys started to punch me. I tried to get away but all of my attempts failed. They beat me to the ground and before I passed out, I heard someone whisper, "stay away from Chloe or next time it'll be worst."

  And then everything went black.

  I woke up and lifted myself off the ground. I groaned in pain. I walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. My lip was cut and bruised, I had a black eye and bruises all over my body. 

  I walked out and tried to act like nothing had happened. I kept repeating the words that one of the guys said in my eye. 

  "Stay away from Chloe or next time it'll be worst." 

  Their voice sounded very familiar. I thought about it for a while and then it hit me. 

  "It was Dylan," I whispered.

  I attempted to run to class, but running hurt so I walked. I walked through the door and handed the note to the teacher and turned around. I swear Chloe went into shock when she saw me. I sat down in a seat towards the back of the class behind Dylan and Chloe. She was so cute and I couldn't believe that she was dating such a prick.
