I knew Aderyn's mom really well. She used to walk me to the bus stop in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. She even let me stay at her house when my parents were mad at me.
She was like a real mom to me.
So, of course, after Aderyn tells me her mom died, I start bawling my eyes out.
Wow, Pace. Way to make Aderyn feel better.
"Hey. It'll be okay, Aderyn. You can stay at my place if you need to get away from your place," he offers.
"Thanks, Jackson," Aderyn sniffles.
I pat her back supportively.
Me and Jackson sit there for a while, trying to comfort her.
"Let's not go to school tomorrow," I say, "because we're all going through some crappy part of our lives right now. K?"
"K," Jackson and Aderyn agree.

Pace's mom's pov"Charlie, I have to go! BYE!" I shout, hanging up on my boyfriend. I wish Pace would come back home. My ex-husband kept making it look like I didn't want her in my house. I didn't drive her home from the hospital, because I thought Jackson's mom would for me. I told his mom in advance that I would be really busy, and she told me not to worry about it, so that's what I figured.
I hope Pace isn't running away anywhere, but if she's with Jackson, I know she'll be safe.
He's a good boyfriend to her.
I wish I had a good boyfriend. . .
