sometimes do you feel like no one on tv looks like you? or maybe you are reading a book and none of the characters are described like anything real. and so this make you feel like maybe you are weird/ugly/misfit/abnormal.
when i read novels on wattpad, i feel that way sometimes. then i get over it be cause this is earth and not la la land.
when people write books on wattled, their characters are not relatable sometimes. like i can read a novel and the main character is a girl with waist-long brown hair, silver eyes(can you have silver eyes? i saw that today in a book. it is a good book tho), beautiful skin with no blemish, 5 feet 8 inches, size 4 and an itty bitty waist and a skinny body that still has curves. and the best part: she is some geek that everyone finds ugly and unwanted and wears glasses to cover it up.
lets be honest here: if we had any of the above features, do you think you would be hated? maybe you could be but who would find you ugly. and how do glasses help you get ugly? GLASSES ARE MEDICATED AND DONT MAKE PEOPLE UGLY AND ARE VERY SERIOUS SOMETIMES AND NEEDED FOR GOOD SIGHT. glasses dont make anyone ugly if you asked me. i dont see why those glasses transform you into a nerd or geek. just a stereotypical one. and stereotypes suck. this is written by a glasses user who hears comments from people and feels like stabbing them.
apart from that, this chick is barbie. what are you telling me? she sounds like gigi hadid that drank heaven's waters so got better. what exactly is wrong with her? nothing. so when this character gets her stereotypical hot boyfriend as she always does what am i learning?
the funny thing is that the writer doesn't look like this. even if the writer knows someone like this, that person is still realer than this.
i want to load my wattpad and read something real. something to believe even if it is fiction. i want diverse characters.
i want to read a book about a 5'3 girl with short pink hair. i want to read about a 5'8 curvy girl with dark skin and kinky hair with the length not mattering. i want to read about a girl about a muslim girl. i want to read about a girl who cut off all her hair cause she felt like.i want to read about a girl with very long harpist her waist. i want to read about a girl who is over these rules to be pretty. i want to read about this girl who wear sweat she wants let it be tight clothes or baggy ones. i want to read about a girl who doesn't wear makeup. i want to read about a girl with no curves. she isn't less beautiful.i want to read about an a girl form anywhere doing anything. i dont mind her not scoring the uber hot guy. she picks the guy who likes video games or who writes or the class president. i want to tell my friends about wattpad books with different type of characters. about a nice popular girl. i want to tell them about this guy that plays basketball as a quadriplegic.or has doesn't have perfect skin. no need for a fit body either. i want to read about a girl like me or anyone i know.
not about the thing we read all the time. the basic stuff we read. this basic book ideas somehow influence us. we might never believe it but if you think about it they do.
and the stories with the curvy girls, we must always read about them trying it change themselves must we? i praise the novels who show these plus size girls taking charge, not giving a care doing what they want and shutting down those haters with their fat shaming.
i decided to write about this today as i was feeling self-conscious and i opened wattpad and read about another unrelatable goddess in a book. why can't we realize we are more than one type of person on earth. and this does make us abnormal. it makes us beautiful. l
