Feelings

Adrien couldn't believe it. He sat on his couch with his head in his hands. The love of his life.. Was in love with someone else. And to make it worse: She was asking him for advice. He thought back to what he had said to her and regretted everything.

"Well, I think that if he knows what's good for him, he'll want you as his own." He had smiled at her with the best cheeky smile he could muster up.

He laughed at himself and lay down, sighing. "What have I done? I should have just told her how I felt." He thought back to Marinette. He still had that to deal with. She had confessed to him and he had just left. There was so much on his plate and he wasn't quite sure how to deal with it.

How was one guy, who lived two lives, supposed to deal with all of this and please everyone? He couldn't even make himself happy.

Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by his cell phone.

When he looked at the Caller-ID he was shocked to see Marinette. He never would have thought that Marinette would call him first. But she was.

"Hello?" He tried to sound chipper but it wasn't working very well.

"Uh, hi, are you okay?" she seemed genuinely concerned, which was nice because Ladybug hadn't even noticed.

"Yeah, I'm - No, I'm not okay." He plopped back onto the couch in defeat and heard Marinette gasp quietly on the other line.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked nicely. He liked her. He really did. But he could just never get Ladybug out of his head, even though now he had to. "Hello?"

"Oh sorry. No, it's fine. Just personal stuff."

"Okay." She was quiet for a moment. "Would you like to meet me tomorrow night?"

He thought for a moment. This could be a good distraction. Marinette was fun and she was honest and cared, he knew that much. He just hoped he could keep Ladybug out of his mind.

"Yeah, sure. What do you have planned?" He tried to sound excited.

"Uhh, just maybe a walk through the park. Meet me at 8?" She was talking quickly and he could barely understand her but he agreed and they hung up. When he set the phone down he looked at the time. 1:30 in the morning.. What was she doing up this early in the morning anyways?

The next day, Marinette walked to school happily. Tikki continually made fun of her for walking with such a bounce in her step. "If you keep doing that, everyone will know something is up."

"You're right Tikki." She slowed her pace and smiled when she found Alya standing in front of the school. She was about to tell Alya the news but then figured Alya was the type to show up and watch, so she decided it would be best to tell her tomorrow after the meet up. She refused to call it a date, because that was creepy.

She tried not to smile all day, especially when Adrien was looking. He seemed to be upset most of the day and she was hoping it wasn't because of her late night phone call. Maybe she had scared him.

That night before she left she spoke with Tikki. "I want him to know who I am. I've heard he likes Ladybug anyway."

"But Marinette! You can't tell anyone." Tikki floated in front of her with a determined look.

"Tikki, maybe it's for the best."

"I can't stop you Marinette, but I want you to make good choices."

"I will, I promise."

When she got to the park, there he was. Sitting on a bench and staring at the stars.

"Hi," she shyly waved at him as she walked into his view.

"Oh, hey Marinette." He was still upset but he looked like he was trying to hide it. She could tell that the smile he wore was fake.

She sat down next to him with a concerned feeling. "You know, you can tell me what's bothering you."

"No, actually, I can't." He seemed angry but he didn't make eye contact with her.

She flinched and looked down at Tikki who was shaking her head. "You can, please I won't tell anyone. I'm worried about you."

Adrien looked at her and then looked back down, defeated. "I know that you're honest Marinette and you only want to help. I can't tell you everything."

"I understand." She couldn't look up at him.

"Last night, something happened." He sighed. "After you told me how you felt, I went out and met a friend of mine. A friend that is really special to me. She told me something.. Something I wasn't expecting."

"What did she tell you?" Marinette tried not to seem too pushy.

"She's in love with someone else." Before Marinette could say anything or even think of anything to say he was speaking again. He spoke quickly and sounded frustrated, holding nothing back. "I thought that last night on that building I would confess to her. I thought that I could make her happy but there's someone else. After everything I've done for her, every time I've saved her- NO, we've saved each other.. I thought maybe she was the one."

"'On that building'?" She repeated. When she looked up at him, she recognized his face instantly. Chat had made the same face last night when she had told him about Adrien. Adrien.. Chat..

"Tikki.."

"What was that?" He looked up at her in confusion. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything after finding out how you feel about me."

"Tikki."

"No, Marinette." She heard from her bag.

"Tikki, transform me!"
