---Chapter 11: The Winter Ball---

Annabeth's Pov
"Turn?" Piper said, spinning her finger in a circular motion. Annabeth sighed, spinning. Piper shook her head. "Next one. This is too . . . What's the word?"
"Boring?" I asked. Piper shook her head.
"Annabeth, you need a dress before tonight," said Piper, handing Annabeth more dresses. "Don't you want to look good for Percy?" Piper smirked as my face heated up.
"I'll go try these on . . ." I said, covering my now pink face with my hair and the dresses as best I could.
The Winter Ball . . . A time at Camp Half-Blood when us demigods can dress up as princesses and princes. I've always loved the Winter Ball, but I hated searching for a dress. It took hours to find the right one, and when you do, there's always something wrong with it.
I sighed as I tried on the hundredth dress. It wasn't half bad. The gown was a rosy shade of red with silver flower designs here and there. I smiled at my reflection, hurrying out to show Piper. She gasped as I stepped out of the dressing room.
"Annabeth!" Piper squealed. "You- oh, gods, that dress . . . We've found your dress," she told me, her eyes glistening. I smiled contently. "We need to get back so I could do your makeup." The color in my face drained. Oh gods . . .
-----------------------------------------------------Time Laps-------------------------------------------------------------

The Aphrodite cabin was a catastrophe. Make-up powder was flying everywhere, girls sobbing on the floor, gowns all over the ground. Piper and I were trying to make our way to the door without getting our outfits ruined. We had our gowns on, make-up and hair down, and heels in our hands. Yes, we were holding our heels. Earlier, one girl started accusing everyone in the cabin of stealing her shoes, so she had been going around to every girl, yanking off their heels, and checking if it was hers.
"We're safe!" Piper exclaimed as we took a step outside of the cabin. I slipped my silver heels back on, taking in a breath of the nice, cool air. "The ball should begin soon," Piper informed me, looking at the mess hall. She had on a light pink, strapless gown. It's color was a soft pink at the top, gradually getting a darker shade of pink that stopped at the end of her dress. Her hair was curled, a lotus flower designed pin pulling back the hair in her eyes. My hair was in a nice side-bun, a couple of my golden curls let lose to get a sort of Cinderella feel. I heard a gasp a couple of feet away from me.
"Y-You look . . . astonishing. Oh my gods, Wise Girl . . ." Percy complimented me, his jaw wide open. He was in a black tux with a silky red tie. Jason was next to him in a white tux, wearing a tie about the same color as Piper's dress.
Percy's face was as red as his tie before he got a hold of himself. He had his goofy grin, taking my arm in his, and leading the way to the Mess Hall.
"You look even more breath-taking than usual, Annabeth." I felt my face heat up, but I just rolled my eyes, trying to suppress my smile.
"You clean up nicely, Seaweed Brain," I told him in return.
-----------------------------------------------------One Hour Later--------------------------------------------------------
Everyone was here now. Piper and Jason were near the punch, which seemed slightly tampered with. Probably the Stolls. Percy and I were goofing off on the dance floor. Thankfully, he wasn't stepping on my toes anymore. Camp Jupiter was invited, also. Hazel was wearing a golden dress that was cut short at her knees while Frank was wearing a vest with a golden tie to match his girlfriend's dress. They were happily dancing a couple of feet away from Percy and I.
"Want to take a break?" Percy asked over the music. I nodded, following him to the exit. The night sky complimented the fresh air. My eyes fluttered closed as I let the cold air engulf me. I could feel Percy staring at me.
"Is something wrong?" I asked, opening my eyes to meet his sea-green ones. Percy smiled and shook his head.
"You just look really beautiful tonight," he answered, hugging me from behind.
"You don't look too bad yourself." I smiled. Percy and I swayed to the music that was blasting from inside for about five minutes before Piper came rushing outside.
"Annabeth!" she yanked my arm, almost making me lose my balance.
"What? Did something happen?" I asked, feeling for the knife that i kept under my dress. What? I have to be prepared.
"Just follow me. You, too, Percy." Piper dragged us back inside and led us to the center of the Mess Hall, which was crowded with demigods dancing.
"What's going on?" Percy asked. He sounded on-edge. Piper stared at us for ten solid seconds before running off somewhere, leaving Percy and I standing in the middle of the crowded dance floor. "What--". Everything happened in a flash. All of the dancing demigods dispersed and left Seaweed Brain and I standing there. The lights changed to a light pink color and they all pointed towards us. I caught the Stoll brothers snickering. Percy and I looked up at the same time. Mistletoe. I glanced at Piper.
"Well, go on," she drawled, smirking. Jason had a camera in his hands. I turned to Percy, who began to laugh.
"Um. . ." I didn't know what to say. The entire camp was here, watching. I felt my heart race. Percy turned my chin towards him so I was staring into his eyes.
"Hey," he said, leaning in. I met him half-way, and fireworks exploded. Legit, fireworks exploded. i heard Leo and the Stolls cheering outside. Everyone rushed to see what the commotion was all about, and the entire camp erupted in delight. Percy and I broke apart to join everyone else outside, watching the fireworks.
"It looks amazing. . ." Percy murmured next to me. Our fingers were intertwined. The night sky was beautiful. Everything was perfect. "I have something for you," I heard Percy say. I turned to see him opening a box. Inside was a diamond, owl necklace. My eyes widened.
"Oh my gods. . . It's. . . Wow. . ." Percy removed the necklace and helped my put it on. I turned it over, and inscribed on it was a message. 'Wise Girl + Seaweed Brain'. I embrassed Percy, thanking him a hundred times. "I love it. I. . . You didn't have to do this for me."
"I wanted to," Percy answered, holding me in his arms. I snuggled my head into the crook of his neck as we watched the fireworks.
