"I still can't believe you've never had a peanut butter and banana sandwich, Ben." Ellie scoffed as she spread the peanut butter over the slice of bread.
"You really shouldn't be surprised." Ben said and handed her the banana slices.
"Why not?" Ellie masterfully arranged them on the peanut butter and pressed the other slice of bread on top.
"Cuz this is like, the weirdest thing I've ever heard of." Ben took the plate from her and eyed the sandwich suspiciously.
"Psh. This is gonna be the most delicious sandwich you've ever had." Ellie smiled, she was just glad to be in his company. She couldn't care less what he thought of the peanut butter and banana sandwich. Ben raised it to his mouth just as Ellie remembered how much of a turn off peanut butter was. Just her luck to forget that important piece of evidence.
"Wait!" She grabbed his hand before he could take a bite.
"What. I need to try this before I lose my confidence." Ben teased. I...um..forgot something." She fibbed.
Ellie gently rested the sandwich back on the cupboard. She lifted herself off the stool and stepped around the corner of the counter, closing the distance between them.
"Ellie? Uhhhm..." That was the only phrase Ben could muster as Ellie smoothly wrapped her arms around his neck. He stepped closely afterward, obviously realizing what awaited him. Ellie shoved him back against the cupboard, pressing her lips to his.
And she kissed him. Hard.
The passion that she put into the moment was something she would never be able to take back. She could feel the slight cracks on his lips, and the tension that was soon released from them. Ben's lips accepted Ellie's and he kissed her in return. The feeling of his hands creating beautiful knots in her hair made her light headed with happiness.
After a good minute or two, Ellie pulled away just enough so their lips weren't touching. She could feel his heavy breath against her nose, tickling it as if it were sending her smaller kisses. She broke into a triumphant grin as she leaned back.
It took a minute for Ben to finally regain his senses. Ellie stepped back and waltzed over to her stool, taking a seat. Ben leaned against the counter and tried to learn how to breathe again.
"What the heck," He panted, completely out of breath. "Was that." Ellie laughed and shrugged, handing his sandwich back to him.
"I wanted to kiss you before you got all gross and sticky from the peanut butter."
"Sheesh. That was some kiss." He collapsed into the stool next to her and took a big bite out of the peanut butter and banana sandwich. "Wow this is amazing!" He expressed, showing off a big grin. Sure enough, he got peanut butter and banana stuck in his teeth.
Turn off avoided.
Ellie laughed again. "Told ya."
