A woman rolled out onto her porch,
And watched the young ones play.
A couple of them stared at the woman,
But she had nothing to say.
The children returned to their game.
But one stood out of the group.
The girl stared with hazel eyes,
And then dropped her yellow hoop.
She ran up onto the woman's old porch,
"Hey miss are you alright?"
The woman grabbed her silver cane,
And the playing children fled with fright.
The woman put on her spectacles,
And looked her up and down.
She then went back to her wheel chair.
"You must be new to town."
"Why yes I am. Why do you ask?"
Then the girl sat down on her rear.
The lady looked at her in confusion,
"Because, I am the one they fear."
"That doesn't make any sense,
Why would they be scared of you?"
The woman looked down at her lap,
And suddenly the girl knew.
"Well, I'll be your friend."
The girl knew she wasn't hostile.
The old wrinkle-faced lady looked up,
And showed a meaningful smile.---------------------------------------------

Hey guys!
I just wanted to clear up any of your questions about this. This poem is about an old woman(duh) that is restricted to being in a wheel chair. The kids are afraid of the lady because they don't know what happened to her, and she isn't very open.
I received a comment about this confusion, so feel free to skip any authors' notes if you understand the ballad. I will incorporate this whenever I think it is needed.
Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you enjoy!
