I woke up to my ringtone, Imma Star. Picking up my phone, I slid off my bed.
“Hello!” I chirped.
“Heyo, Nata!” Korinas voice echoed. “I’m just calling to make sure that you didn’t forget our date is in three hours.”
“Okay. Yay, I’m excited.” I said sarcastically, shutting my phone. I didn’t want to hear what else Kori had to say.
Grrr. I don’t need three hours to get ready! It’s not like I need to impress anyone! Setting my alarm clock to 11:30, I crawled back into my warm, cozy bed. The date started at 1:30, two hours was plenty of time for me.
Just as I was about to drop off to sleep, someone rudely knocked on my door. What now? I dragged myself out of bed, and shuffled to the front door. As I opened the door I felt something warm slide down my back. I quickly turned around to come face to face with a prankster.
“You idiot! What was that?” I yelled into David’s smug face.
“That was my blood.” He answered holding up his bloody hand. My eyes widened as I grabbed his wrist.
“How did you do this? What happened? You need to—“I was interrupted by a voice from the door. Crap I forgot about the door.
“Um, sorry to interrupt but I’ve been standing here for 10 minutes.” I turned to look at where the voice was coming from. I froze, what was Vladik doing here? Oh yeah, him and David are like brothers. Best friends.
“You can stand there for the rest of your life and no one would care.” I snapped at him, leaving the room.
“Well hello to you too.” He said in a sarcastic tone. While walking into the kitchen, I yelled. “Don’t ever talk to me again.” I smiled to myself.
Hmm. What shall I eat? As I turned to face the counter, I slipped on something wet. I looked down at my dripping foot. It was covered in blood. David’s blood. Wonderful.
I glanced into the sink. There was a bloody knife lying in there. I gasped, and marched into the living room. David and Vladik were sat together on the couch, playing a video game.
“Oh, take that sucker!” David yelled, flinging his hand in the air. I put my hands on my hips and stood in front of him.
“David, why in God’s name would you go and cut yourself?” I yelled, gesturing towards his wrist. My twin brother was self-harming? Yes, we’re twins. But trust me, we are nothing alike.
“What are you talking about sis?” David said scrunching up his nose in confusion.
“You aren’t turning emo, are you?!” Gasping I grabbed my chest. David looked at me with a confused look. I started to panic. Was my brother depressed?
“Nata calm down, I was making chicken and accidentally cut myself. I’m not turning emo.” David chuckled and shook his head as if I was crazy. I then realised how stupid my accusation was. I mentally slapped myself for even thinking that.
“Okay good!’ sighing, I slumped down onto the sofa.
“Let’s play again.” Vladik asked David. Oh he’s here. I totally forgot about him. Looking over at Vladik, I caught him looking at me. But then he quickly looked away. I stared at his messy, dirty blonde hair and then at his light brown eyes. He was so damn hot! I moaned. I moaned?! OUT LOUD!
I slapped my mouth shut and mentally beat myself up for making that noise in front of them. Vladik looked at me with a smirk. He must have heard me moan. I put my head in my hands.
“Yo, Nata! Was that a moan I heard, after you checked me out?” he looked amused as he raised one eyebrow. I narrowed my eyes at him.
“As if I would check you out!” I snarled at him and crossed my arms. Okay, yes, I was checking him out. But I was NOT about to admit that. Vladik raised one of his perfect eyebrows. Oh great, now I think his eyebrows are perfect? What is wrong with me today?
“I totally saw you checking me out. But it’s okay. It’s normal. I catch chicks checking me out ALL the time.” He threw his legs onto the couch putting his hands behind his head. He winked at me and then smirked.
“You’re so arrogant!” I shrieked throwing my hands over my head. “Oh and if you don’t remember, I said don’t talk to me!” And with that I left the room to prepare for the date. A whole hour had passed since Vladik’s arrival.
I briskly ran up the stairs and trudged into my room. I really needed a shower! Grabbing a new set of underwear, I slipped into my own bathroom. It had a shower, a Jacuzzi and of course, a toilet. The carpet was pink and fuzzy and my towel was a beautiful, deep purple. My bathroom is definitely very girly.
After taking a long hot shower, I slipped into my pink Hollister tee, American eagle skinny jeans and my Gucci sneaks. They were my favorite and I looked cute in them! I put my brown hair into a high ponytail and brushed my bangs to the left side. As I left the room, I took one last look in the mirror. My dull, brown eyes stared back at me. I hated how dull my eyes always seemed. I wish I had inherited my mom’s eyes. I sighed and skipped down the stairs. I had approximately forty minutes to get to starbucks, which was where we had decided to meet. I decided to check Facebook as I still had time to spare.
Facebook had nothing but the usual drama going on as I scrolled down my News Feed. I shook my head, seeing the pointless arguments that people would publicize on the internet. I decided to leave the computer room and went to join David and Vladik. I entered the living room to find nothing but popcorn all over the floor. David and Vladik were gone. Where did they go? I crept into the kitchen. It was empty. I went to check David’s room next. But the room was also empty.
I heard the toilet flush. Ok, so one of them was in the bathroom. I left David’s room to check my own. I opened the door and my jaw dropped.
