Louis' POV

"Hey, N. Whatcha doing? Where's Jessie?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, patiently waiting for his response. I was a bit tired, so I knew it a stupid question.

Niall stared at me for a moment and rolled his eyes as he could sense how tired I probably was. "Where do you think she is, Lou? She's in the basement. I'm just grabbing her backpack from the van," He said dismissively and tried to walk around me.

I tensed up a bit as I vaguely remembered that Harry had grabbed the small black book bag and left Liam, Zayn, and I, unfortunately, to do most of the work with unloading. "Um..Niall..why don't you help the lads? I'll get the bag," I said and already began walking toward the basement door.

"It's in the van, Lou! You're going the wrong way," Niall called after me and pointed to the front door where the van was still parked.

"No..I'm not," I called back to him and before he could speak again I hurried down the steps, after I nearly threw the door open, the hinges protesting the harsh movement. My foot steps were thudding against the wood making it difficult to hear any other noises, but I vaguely heard small whimpering. Or at least I think I did.

"You're going to listen to me. You're mine. You'll do anything I want you to do, you little bitch," Harry spoke with a growl.

My mouth dropped open as soon as I saw the extent of the scene in front of me. Harry had Jessie pinned by her throat to the wall, and her face was red from him cutting off her oxygen supply. He didn't even seem to care that he was nearly killing her with his bare hands.

"Harry, what the hell is the matter with you?" I yelled toward him as I ripped him away from the now limp girl.

Somehow I managed to catch her before she fell to the ground, and I started to put her on the mattress, but quickly thought against it as I saw how disgusting it was. I wasn't surprised, after all, it had been left down here to rot with the rest of the old furniture upstairs. My gaze shifted down to Jessie and shook her slightly to get some type of response from her, but she didn't move. I leaned in slightly and let out a soft breath of relief was I heard her slow breathing.

"Damn it," I grunted slightly and shifted her weight so I was now holding her in a more bridal style fashion. She couldn't stay down here, not with these harsh conditions. She'd eventually die from some type of sickness, and she didn't deserve that.

"Louis?" Harry croaked from the place I shoved him on the floor. He looked confused and a bit dazed.

I turned to look at him with a glare. "What the hell is the matter with you?" I nearly spat at him while I kept hold of the unconcious girl in my arms.

He wasn't looking at me now. His gaze was on Jessie with pain and sadness taking over the glassy look in his eyes, but because I've known him for so long I could barely just see the dominate side of him around the edges.

That side always scared me, and it was hard to pull him out of, he could hurt someone so much with only his fist while in that trance. Now it was just a million times worse, and I knew that was because of our new guest.

I frowned down at Jessie, knowing very well that she couldn't stay down here, not by herself at least. Anything could happen to her, and most of that could be at the hands of Harry.

"I-I don't know," Harry whispered and gulped a bit. "Is she.." His words trailed off, probably afraid that he had caused a more serious injury that could be seen on her.

I glared once more. "Alive? Yes, but barely. She can't be down here, H. Just give her a room upstairs now. Only you can decide it because Liam won't let anyone else take responsibility for her," I said with a frown and tried not to feel annoyed by my statement. I was the oldest, in yet, I had to take orders from someone younger than me. I never minded it until now, and I couldn't help but feel the annoyance more often than not.

Harry looked at me with a pained expression and exhaled loudly, the grave look still clear in his eyes. "Fine. I'd say I want her in my room, but we both know how that would go," He frowned and scratched the back of his head out of the nervousness he must have been feeling. "Louis, you have to make sure I don't snap around her anymore. I-I almost, I almost killed her," He whispered with disbelief coating his tone, and his eyes widening slightly as if he couldn't believe it himself.

I pressed my lips together and tried not to look displeased at his words. I wasn't her baby sitter. "I'll do my best, mate, but no promises. Niall left her alone for only about two minutes and you nearly killed her. I can't be around her twenty-four seven, not with what's going on with all of us. We've all got things to do especially since we're leaving the country in a couple months. We all have to pull our own weight."

"There has to be another way to do this, " Harry said while running his fingers through his already unruly curly hair. His eyes would flash from me, back to the girl in my arms then back up to me.

"There's only one thing you can do, and none of us want it. Despite the fact that Liam keeps suggesting it, he doesn't want you to do it either," I said, gravely and I was uncomfortable thinking it, let alone saying it. None of it felt right to do. We couldn't just end an innocent life because she was jerked into a situation by force.
