Taken from Hope's POV:

Walking into school another day made being paralyzed seem better. The day's never ended, they seemed to always get worse. I hated high school so much.

As I walked into school, I saw her. Her as in my "friend". As we walked closer to each other, I noticed the same guy in black skinny jeans watching me closely as he did every day.

I never really payed much attention to it. Must have thought we were cute or something, besides I had more to worry about. As I walked with my "friend" she said something to me.

"So bestie, why are you still going here? I thought I told you to stay away from me." I didn't move. I was used to this.

"Because you can't tell me what to do anymore." I said quietly. My entire body went numb when I saw her stop in her tracks. "What?" she asked.

"You heard me." I murmured a little louder. She then slapped me across the face drawing blood.

This continued for about 30 seconds until that boy in the black jeans walked down the hallway. He stopped and stared till he realized what was happening. BAM! He pushed my "friend" into the lockers behind her.

"Get out of here." he told me. I ran down the hallway as he followed me towards the empty back of the school. I wiped the tears away from my eyes to keep them from falling.

We reached the back of the school about 10 seconds later. The mysterious boy approached me with deep eyes. I somehow could feel myself melt inside them.

"Are you ok?" he respectfully asked. I shook my head and shed a small tear. The boy shifted to my side and hugged me slightly. "I know you don't know me, my name is Dan."

"Hope." I replied. "How long has this been going on if you don't mind me asking?" Dan said.

I shrugged and replied, "A couple weeks." Awkwardness rose between us as the quietness got stronger.

I looked up at Dan and noticed those eyes again. They were so filled with sorrow. Almost guilt. He seemed to notice and looked back at me. Automatically my stomach flipped.

I almost crapped myself from anxiety. Dan didn't look away from me. Instead he kissed my cheek softly. "If you need anything I will be there." he said.

This complete stranger was already changing my life. Someone cared about me. Gaining the nerve to actually make eye contact with the male species, I looked at him.

"Thank you so much, Dan." I smiled. Dan smiled back, but then I noticed that we were very close to each other. Romantically close.

He must've noticed too considering he shifted a bit. His eyes sparkled. Do I like him?

I had just met Dan but I couldn't deny that he was making me feel a certain way. He tied my stomach into knots.

The first bell rang signaling to go to first period. I smiled at Dan and thanked him. "Anytime Hope." He smiled back and we parted our ways.

~during lunch/free period~

"Alone as always." I murmured. I haven't sat with anyone in so long. I wish I had someone who I could trust to be in my life.

First my "friend" betrays me, and then everyone forgets I exist. Great. My thoughts were interrupted by the soft tapping on my shoulder.

"Hey... erm, can I possibly sit with you? I noticed you looked... well lonely." I turned around to see Dan.

He was awkwardly rubbing his right elbow and attempting to make the least amount of eye contact with me as possible.

"I was just heading to the computer lab but yeah I would love to have the company." I stifled a laugh at the thought of someone asking to sit with me.

Dan grabbed my arm leading me to the computer lab. "Forget lunch, let's just hang out! Maybe... get to know each other a little more?" he said.

I blushed and nodded. We sat down and for about the next 15 minutes we got to know each other better.

Dan stopped talking for a matter of seconds. Probably ran out of words to say. "Dan," I began. "I wanted to thank you brightening my day and getting me away from that girl. It meant a lot to me."

Silence. It was actually surprising how silent the room became after I had said that. I looked up at Dan.

He was blushing a bit and you could see he was about to say something. Dan scooted closer. "If anyone does anything to you like that again, tell me."

And with that he leaned his head in and kissed me. I felt the sparks fly as the kiss continued. He looked up at me and smiled adorably.

The bell rang a few moments later. "I guess I will see you later?" Dan said biting his lip anxiously. "Of course." I replied.

"And that was how Dan and I met!" I said to my mother. "Honey, he really is a keeper." my mom replied. I smiled and grasped her hand tightly.

"I'm going to miss you! London is quite far away from here but I will be safe. I love you mom." I saw a tear roll down my mothers face.

"In the past 3 years I have known Dan, I can trust you two. You guys are always there for each other. I love you!" She hugged me tightly.

With that said, I exited the house to meet Dan at the airport which we would be meeting.

"Hope!" I heard someone shout from across the airport entrance. I smiled realizing it was Dan.

"Dan! Hey are you excited?" I screamed. He lowered his head down a bit and kissed me shortly.

He nodded. We headed off to our flight and from then on our adventure had begun.

Being in London for a week was amazing. Dan and I visited so many new places and it was like nothing else. Through all the cuddling and alone time we shared, being with him is all I could ever ask for.
