Quiet as possible Neo entered the cabin where Trinity was asleep. He sat down beside her on the bedside and grabbed her hand. He could hear her breathing, feel the heat from her hand. He caressed her black tangled hair, then over her cheek, they jaw and continues down and ended up with his hand on her chest. He felt her heartbeats. He could feel them in his hand and inside himself. He could divine them, and feel them like some kind of power.
He missed her so much, even if she was there. "Trin, I'm glad you're here." Neo knew that Trinity could hear him. He just knew it so hard.
"When I thought I had lost you I was ready to die. I can't live without you, Trinity. I know I say this way too rarely, you deserve to hear it every day. I love you. I love you so damn much. Please, wake up soon." He kissed her.
The last memory he had of Trinity's lips were cold and dead. It changed now. They were still dead, but far from cold. He leaned down over her body, hugged her tightly.
"I love you more, Neo." He looked down at Trinity and her blue eyes were wide open. "Trin!" he gasped and pulled her really close to him beginning to cry of happiness. She started to cry too. Neo could not help the wildly shaking his body did. He was so thrilled and happy.
"I thought I had lost you forever!" Trinity was confused, of course. "I was..."
"You were dead Trinity! Fucking dead!" Neo hugged her as hard as he could with his weak body. "Ouch..." Trinity whispered. "I'm sorry... Does it hurt much?"
"Yeah" she moaned. "And I feel kind of cold inside."
"It's metal."
"What?" Trinity was even more confused now. "The machines saved you, it was the only way to get you back. You were damaged internal, and of course they had to fix it..."
"I have metal inside of me?" Neo nodded. "Yes, it was the only way. I'm forever thankful to them. They saved both you and me."
"What happened?"
"I... died. Or what do you mean?"
"I mean, did they first hurt you and then save you?"
"No, not really. I fought against Smith. I let him take ocer my body, and then the machines could delete him. I guess deletion of a human being isn't a very good thing..."
"You sacrificed yourself."
"Of course. For Zion, and for you. I knew you believed in me. I couldn't fuck it up when you believed in me in that way." Trinity showed a little smile and stroked Neo's hair. "You know, I love you so much I even missed you when I was dead" he said giving her a smile, touching her lips with his figers.
They laid down on the bed, Neo wrapped his arms around Trinity. "Is it okay?"
"If you hold me? Of course."
"No, I mean... Does it hurt when I hold you like this?"
"No, darling."Trinity and Neo woke up by a knock on the door. "Come in" Neo said sleepy, and in came Morpheus. He was holding a tray with that slimy goo called food.
"Trinity" he said smiling, put down the tray on the floor before giving her a genle hug. "I don't know what I had done if I had lost you. You must understand, you're like a daughter to me, Trinity." She gave him a smile. "Thanks, Morpheus. It means a lot."
"We'll enter the gates of Zion in twenty minutes. Try to eat."
Morpheus rarely smiled, he was a very serious man. But now he could not hide it. He was so happy his friends and crewmembers were alive.
He leaved the cabin. Trinity and Nei began to eat the nutritional goo with the texture of snot and taste of absolutely nothing.
Suddenly a smile spread over Trinity's face. "What?" Neo began to smile himself of the sight Trinity smilig. "Oh, nothing."
"Come on, tell me." Neo watched her with curios eyes. "I remember the first time I ate this shit many years ago..." Neo chuckled silently, something that set Trinity's heart on fire. "What happened?" Trinity laughed. "I just threw up." Both burst into laughing. "That's understandable." Neo sighed prosperously. "I'm happy to hear you laugh" he said and caressed Trinity's cheek. She placed her hand on his with a gentle smile, closed her eyes for a moment. Just focused on Neo, his hand on her cheek, his deep breaths.
Suddenly she felt his lips against hers. She sighed of pleasure. Neo placed his other hand on her other cheek and Trinity let her hand remain on his.
A few seconds later Neo stopped, but let his lips gently touch hers. A smile adorned his face, and Trinity could not keep back her smile. "You smell and taste so good..." he said silently, and Trinity laughed. "How should I interpret that?"
"That you smell and taste Trinity, and that it's the best thing in the world."
"Even when it's mixed up with blood and dirt?"
"Even then." Neo winked flirty with an eye and she smirked.
Suddenly Trinity became serious. "What is it honey?" Neo asked. "Oh, I just... I wonder, what about the Matrix, now when the war is over?"
"All minds that reject the Matrix will be freed automatically. The Matrix is reloaded, though, and they will continue to grow humans. But I guess that if they grow up and happen to reject the Matrix, they will also be freed."
"What about Zion, then? Won't it be very packed with people?"
"I'm afraid so."
"Do you know how many minds that reject the Matrix?"
"A man told me once that there is only one percent of the population, but I believe there's more. He's quite much of a liar."
"I thought... If too many people reject the Matrix, the machines would be without power, and then maybe have to let go of the Matrix and find another energy source."
"That sounds great. Let's hope that there's enough people who reject. If not, we might be able to change their minds in some way."
"Yeah, maybe." Neo kissed Trinity again before getting up from the bed. "Where are you going?" she asked and grabbed his hand. "Gonna tell Morpheus to contact Zion and send out patrols at once. Just think about all the confused and scared people out there..."
