Eselle and I sat in an interrogation room, a man with an eyepatch and dark cape glaring at us.

"I never knew kids would become like this." He muttered. "Oh, no." I spoke up. "Only us." Eselle fixed her roses and beamed at me. The man gave us a cold look. "I wouldn't smile so much if I were you. You understand your situation, don't you?" I shrugged. "We do. If we care is another matter." Eselle said for me.

The man gave us a dark glare. "You should." He hissed. "Why? We don't even know you." I said. He sat up. "Very well. My name is Nick Fury."

Eselle and I stared at him.

"That's cool." Eselle said.

"Good. Now, I want to speak to you about some things." He said. "You aren't old enough, by law, to be put under trial and set in jail, so I'm going to give you some options." He said smoothly.
"Be taken under SHIELD and we can say it was all a training mission. Or we can release you and you can risk being ended by us the nest time we see you." Fury gave us a smug look. "Your decision."

Then Eselle did something absolutly ridiculous.

Eselle blew a raspberry at him.

Fury jolted back in his seat, and gave her an evil look. She snickered. "I'm guessing that means you want to be set out on your own." He snarled. "No!" I yelped.

"No, no, no, not at all. She's just weird." I said. Eselle glared at me. Fury raised his eyebrows. "Okay then."

Eselle's POV

I grabbed a rose off my head and planted it on the wall of our room. We'd signed with SHIELD and now were trainees with them. Elliot and I turned when the door opened.

"Oh. Er, sorry, I thought this was a free room... Wait a minute, aren't you the Twins?" It was Captain America. He was wearing a red shirt and sweatpants, and was carrying a box covered by a blanket.

"The Twins?" We asked at the same time. "Yeah. Well, it's what Tony and the others call you. The Twins." We looked at each other and shrugged. "Yeah."
"I thought you guys were... Like, y'know..." He stumbled over his words.
"We've been taken under by SHIELD because we're not old enough to go to jail." Elliot said. "What are you doing here again?" I asked.

"Oh! Right, I thought this was a free room, so..." He pulled the blanket off and in the box, which actually turned out to be a cage, was a puppy the size of my head maybe and it was black.
"The others wouldn't take care of it, so I thoughtI could bring it here and take care of it myself..." He said.

Elliot's POV

"PUPPY!" Eselle shrieked like a child.

Oh, wait, she is.

Steve jumped slightly. She ran to the cage and opened it, taking the sleeping creature out. She cradled it, talking to it in another language.
"Um... What's she doing?" He asked. "She's talking to it." (A/N: Like the girl from China on the show Little Big Shots) I replied, going back to the bed and sitting down. She kept muttering to it.
"How?" He asked, setting the cage down and watching her. "She can speak to animals and the dead." I replied.

"Like I can speak to the deaf and make the mute speak."

He nodded, a little impressed by our abilities. "So, any other powers?" He asked.

"Yeah, but they aren't that great. You know I can make black fire, but it does little to kill and only burns. I use it to cook sometimes. I can also see in the dark and understand any language. Eselle doesn't have powers. She has certain keys she uses in place of that. Her White Wing key makes her run faster, her Pure Sight key makes her invisible, etc."

As I explained, Eselle suddenly collapsed. Steve shot out and caught her and the puppy, and set them on the bed. "Oh," I said. "She finally collapsed."

Steve gave me a look that said, 'Are you telling me you want your sister to die?!'

He calmed when I removed a key from her hand. "Her Lifestring Key. Gives her more energy, but you never know when she's going to pass out." I shrugged.

Then she shot up and threw a pillow in my face.

Steve's POV

Eselle jumped up and smacked her brother with a pillow she grabbed off the bed. "YOU WALKED RIGHT INTO THAT ONE!" She laughed. Elliot's eye twitched.
"You really wanna go there, because last time I checked you haven't even won once." He said, grabbing a pillow of his own.

Is it wrong that I feel out of place right now?

He chucked his pillow at her and she swatted it aside... Effectively hitting me in the face.

Eselle's POV
"Oops." I giggled nervously. The Captain's face was unreadable. "Eselle..." He said slowly. Then he snatched the pillow and hit me upside the head with it. "Eek!" I laughed. Elliot jumped in front of me, his pillow held protectively. "Nobody messes with my little sister but me!" He cried, but was smiling.

"Oh? What're you gonna do about it, kid?" Elliot smacked him on the arm and I hit him on the head. "Okay, okay, I give! I give! Uncle!" He said loudly, laughing.

"What in the ever-loving hell are you doing, Steve."

We all froze and stared at the doorway.
