Mellow mists enfolding rugged coast,
Brilliant light faceted on thundering waves,
Solitary trees gnarled by years of toil
Against the ever present wind
Fleetingly gentle or angry and all consuming
Leaving the land it touches withered in its wake.
Theatre of stone wrought from the sea,
Imposing majesty, dwarfing any thought.
Magnificence of scapes woven through aeons by invisible hands.
Minute grains of sand singing their greeting as the ocean yields to meet them.
A raven, iridescent blackness, calling me home.
What greater gift than this beautiful tapestry, a diamond like no other,
Inspiring awe and wonder,
Living, breathing part of me.
