6 years later. . .
The view outside the window was nothing, but miles and miles of water vapor. Clouds. I looked outside and sighed, disappointed to see nothing for more than 8 hours.
"Miss Ellison, would you like some champagne?"
I looked around and saw the stewardess named Sara in her properly smoothed uniform.
I smiled, "I'd love to."
In the past years, my family had developed its wealth, so fast that it was unbelievable. It had only gotten us to partner up with the Louis' Marketing Company and in a snap, they had it all.
Currently, we were in a plane- our own private plane, on our way to Paris.
I grinned at the thought. I was never someone to brag, but I must admit, it is a really nice feeling.
Midway through the plane ride, my parents had fallen asleep. So I was left with my old insomniac self, anxious about the thought that I was to meet my fiance. Christian Louis.
Yes, I had a fiance- that I had never even seen before. My parents and his had arranged a fixed marriage. 'For the good and coming generations of the company', my parents always said.
Even if I was reluctant at first, I thought that maybe this could do good to my future. For this was the only thing that kept us at high peaks.
I took a deep breath, as strands of my red hair fell on my face. (And yes, my hair has been dyed to a strawberry red.)
When my champagne had arrived, my mind had flashed about Zach Menzies. I never knew what happened to them, but who cares?
I sipped on my glass, then after more sips, I'd fallen asleep. (And I thought I was an insomniac.)
I woke up just as the pilot had announced we were about to land.
I looked out and was happy to see not clouds, but lights that sparkled around Paris's night sky. And in the distance, was the famous Eiffel Tower.
My jaw dropped. It truly is amazing.
" Wow."
"How beautiful!" Mom remarked. Dad nodded in agreement.
I waited until the plane's large wheels came out, touched the ground, and halted to a complete stop.
I threw my hands up in the air and stretched, "Ah, Finallyyy! Paris!"
"Vi," my dad called out, "you can go out now. But wait outside."
"Oh, yes!", I exclaimed.
I was 22, but in moments like this, you can never control yourself in the pleasures of life, even if you wore a tight dress and stilettos.
I hurried out the plane, and carefully walked down the staircase.
I felt the cold summer breeze of the night, and took in all of the view as much as I can.
Lights, trees, houses, skyscrapers, a ferris wheel, and the wonderful Eiffel Tower.
After my parents walked down, two men put all our luggage in a cart.
"We'll be meeting the Louises outside," my mom stated, looking down her phone, "Violet, deary, fix yourself up a bit."
I did as I was told. As we walked across, and headed towards the building, I felt butterflies in my stomach and I had started to get sweaty palms.
"Violet, keep calm," I reassured myself, "You're just meeting your fiance. That you've never seen before. And who you'll be with. Until the end of your life."
Great help.
The door was right in front of us.
"Wai--"
I stopped for a moment, but continued right away because my parents didn't stop walking.
The doors opened, and there were many people. And I never knew what he looked like, so I was getting more nervous.
"There you are, Mr. Louis," my dad approached a man with a bushy moustache, "Good evening."
"Ah, Thomas Ellison! Welcome to Paris!" he exclaimed, throwing his hands to his sides, "The city of love."
Beside his right was a lady in maroon, who had a teethy grin on, which I presumed was his wife. And to his left, was a tall-built guy with brown hair and a remarkable jawline, who looked a few years older than me.
I rubbed my hands together in anxiety.
Christian Louis.
My mother started and gestured to me, "This is my daughter, Violet."
Emilia Louis placed her eyes on me and gave a flashy grin. "Violet Ellison, my future daughter-in-law!", she then kissed me on either side of my cheeks.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Louis," I greeted politely.
"May I see the face of my fiance?", Christian had spoken up. I was startled by his choice of words.
He then walked up to me and kissed my hand.
"Christian Louis," he met his brown eyes with mine.
"Your future husband."
