“Her vital signs are stabilizing already, Mrs. Ellison. And her BP had come down into a normal rate. Glad to say, she’ll be fine by tomorrow.”

“Thank you, Doctor. Funny what love can do to you, huh?”

I was awoken by loud murmurs and audible sobs from my mother outside the door.

My head throbbed painfully, and it felt like every muscle in my body ached tremendously.

I attempted to sit up, pushing my arms up from the bed. But they just collapsed again and hurt more this time. I let out a groan.

The murmuring stopped, aware of the fact that I was already awake.

The door opened and revealed the tear-stained, worried faces of my parents.

“V, dear! We thought you were going to die!” my bothered father exclaimed as he kissed my foreheas. As fast as that, his mood changed to anger. “Don’t ever do that again!”

My ears rang at the piercing volume of his voice, causing my head to throb once more.  I was confused, hurt and I did not remember what had happened to me.

I groaned. “What – what happened to me, exactly?”

“Oh!” it was Mom’s turn to exclaim dramatically, “You couldn’t get rid of your headache, so you’ve had six intakes of Paracetamol yesterday. Six!”

“Oh, jeez. Please… stop shouting,” I called in pain, covering my ears with my hands as I winced. She smiled apologetically and covered her mouth.

“Promise me you won’t do that again, Violet. Please, for us and for yourself,” my dad pleaded, “Long no more for that unfaithful, wretched boy. You deserve better, V.”

With the hurtful words that he said about Zach, a tear escaped my eye.

Unfaithful, wretched boy. Suits him right for leaving me on air.

I looked at both my parents – their tired faces revealed everything. The dark circles under my mother’s eyes, tear stains on their cheeks and troubled look in their eyes.

I hurt them. I hurt them enormously.

And it’s all because of a stupid puppy love with a stupid guy.

I needed to change, to move on even if it hurts. I wiped my eyes.

“I promise.”

I decided to take a refreshing bath, instead of a quick shower. It's been a day or two since my last shower, anyway. Because my parents didn't want me to get a cold, after just healing from my overdosage.

Or they just didn't want me to smell nice, I don't know.

I wrapped my hair in a clean towel and put on my robe, before stepping out of the bathroom. I mean, who knows, someone might enter my room suddenly.

I was about to take it off, when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in!" I hollered.

It was my mom, who, after crying her eyes out yesterday, had swollen eyes.

"There's a boy looking for you downstairs. Greyson's his name, I think."

I wondered who that is for I never even met a Greyson in my life before.

"Who's that?", I asked her.

"I don't know, but if he's one of your secret suitors, I'll ban you from seeing him," she said jokingly.

I rolled my eyes. "Mom. I don't even know him."

"I was kidding. Now go get dressed. Wouldn't want to keep him waiting, now."

I quickly grabbed clothes and put them on. I did want to make a good impression.

I hurried downstairs and saw  standing in the living room, a boy with red hair, but it suited him. He had flashing grey eyes and a nonchalant expression.

I wonder who this is. I decided to introduce myself formally, because he doesn't look that wild.

"Um... Hi," I approached with my hand extended, "Violet Ellison."

He glanced at me then shook my hand with his own. "Greyson Smith. You're uh, you're Zach Menzies' girlfriend, right?"

My smile disappeared in a snap. "No. Not anymore." I spat bitterly, for that name was the name I wanted to clear from my mind, to forget.

"I'm Zaya's boyfriend."

My thoughts stopped in its thinking. My eyes widened. Zaya has a boyfriend?

Oh! It was him that Zaya was talking to the other night!

I replied, shocked, "Really? She has a boyfriend?"

He dropped his eyes. "Yes- no, I mean I don't know. They haven't been around these past few days and she's not answering to my calls and texts."

I looked at him. We were the same. We were both left without even a single warning.

"I was hoping, maybe you know where they went- since you're together- I mean were together with Zach?"

"I'm sorry, Greyson. But, I don't know either. I was told that- that they moved away. He left me without any sign of warning."

He sighed. "It hurts. I love her so much, but why is she doing this?"

I reassured him. "But I promise I'll tell you when I find out."
