"Is this really the place?" you asked yourself. In front of yourself was tall rock pillars that looked almost impossible to climb, like the ones you had encountered in Drum Island. You looked at the slip of paper. In code, it read Baltigo. As you trekked up the steep path, powerful winds swirled around you and your boots met each step with a crunch, stepping in to the cold, gray, and dry snow.
Third person POV
In the control room of the base, Dragon and several other Revolutionaries were looking at the screens, showing a picture of you already calmly walking through the corridors of the headquarters.
"Dragon-san, should we really allow such a trespasser to continue on at our ground," a curious Revolutionary asked.
"This is the last test to see if she is worthy enough to join."
"Last test? Wait, when was the first test?" Koala asked. The girl sat in front of the screens, wondering what the leader was planning.
Dragon grunted, "The first test was when I handed the first slip of information about Sabo and Koala's mission at the nobles' party. The girl didn't tell anyone about their location. The second test was when I gave her the location of our base. Again, she didn't tell anyone. Now this is the last one: getting to me without being spotted, excluding cameras."
Right as he said that, you had already blown a purple smoke at an unsuspecting den den mushi, causing it to pass out. "Well, looks like she's going to knock all of them out," another voice said, walking into the room. The man wore a noble-like outfit with a pipe strapped to the back.
"Sabo! You're back!" exclaimed Koala.
Sabo received a hug from the girl. "Dragon-san..." He was interrupted by another sudden voice.
Your POV
You stood at the side of the room. "Sir," you greeted the stoic man. All the other people in the room were wide-eyed, surprised that you had entered the control room, without them knowing. Well, all of them except for Koala who just looked at you with curious eyes and Sabo, who had a more collective look than the rest. You glanced at him, but then walked to the front Dragon's desk. "Did I pass the test?" you asked, smirking, having heard the majority of the conversation.
The black-haired man smiled, "Of course you did, (Name) Silvetrim." At the mention of your last name, several people started whispering and you winced.
"Please, don't call me that. I really have come to despise that name."
"Of course, forgive me, (Name)," the leader said, "Of course, such names don't matter. Once a person becomes a Revolutionary, they are free from the bounds of such things. I am looking forward to you working here, (Name). Your skills for planning operations would be very helpful."
You gave a bow. "The pleasure is mine."
*Time-skip~*
It's been 6 months since you had join the Revolutionary Army. Because you were skillful tactician, you were quickly placed under Dragon and advised him such matters. Simultaneously, you worked in the second squad*, which consists of planning minor missions. When you had the time, you would figure out where Sabo was. Unfortunately, by the time you had discovered such information, Sabo had already left on a mission of some sort. Today was one of those days.
"Darn..." you grumbled at yourself. You were at the cafeteria, getting lunch. The room was quite large, big enough to hold all the numbers of Revolutionaries. "Even though I got in, it's been half a year since I had last seen his face. Even though he doesn't remember me," you bit your lower lip, "I still want to talk to him."
"What's with the sad face?" a gentle voice asked.
"S-Sabo-san?"
"You don't have to be so formal with me," he reminded you, and then sat down next to you with a tray stacked high with food. Sabo never really changed, despite his amnesia. You giggled, looking at the large pile.
*Flashback*
"I'm hungry..." Sabo looked at you.
Your stomach growled, "Me, too. Why don't we go catch something to eat?"
Sabo nodded in agreement. The two of you had been wandering the forest in Mt. Corvo for three hours and hadn't eaten anything.
After another 30 minutes, you stumbled upon a roaring river. "Fish?" you asked the boy next to you. Soon you had made makeshift fishing poles and had caught five fish. As Sabo continued to fish for more lunch, you started a campfire and cooked the fish.
It hadn't been more than five minutes since the fish were done and Sabo had ate three of the five. "Sabo!" you whined.
Stopped in the middle of his fourth one. "Heh-heh... sorry, (Name), I didn't mean to."
"Yeah right! I'm still on my first one!"
In the end, you only had two fish while your ravenous friend had ten and even with that large amount, it didn't fill him.
*Flashback end*
"What are you laughing?"
"O-oh, nothing... It's just that since you eat so much, it reminded me of my friend... who's right in front of me."
"Is that why you were sad earlier, thinking of your friend."
"Yeah..." You continued to tell him about your "friend": how you were first met, the summer festival, and the times you explored together. Sabo, while eating, paid attention each story, nodding along. You ended with a sad smile when you told him about the explosion. Without knowing or realizing that he was the friend, Sabo gave his condolences.
"I'm sorry to hear about that," he said quietly.
"Well, it's okay now," you replied, "It's been 7 years since that had happened."
Sabo glanced at a nearby clock. He stood up. "I hate to leave you like this, but I've got to go."
"It's okay," you said again, "You have another mission again, right?"
"See you soon?"
You nodded, and when the man had left, you groaned with frustration. Why doesn't he remember? You had told him so many childhood memories, yet he didn't give any indication of him knowing! After throwing the rest of your food away, you went to your dorm.
The dorms were separated into different two sections, men and women, and then further divided into four sections, A, B, C, and D. You stayed in the women's dorm (no duh!), section C. Section C had a high ceiling and its wall covered with many pods, contained a bed in each**. Slowly, you walked to and climbed up to Pod 218 and stayed there, sulking. Nearby, you heard two women chatting away.
"Hey~, did you hear that we're going to have a party next year? Also there's going to be a ceremony for promoting ranks!"
"Really? I can't wait! I also heard that it's going to last for three days and everyone had those days off!"
You chuckled to yourself. "Guess that even Revolutionaries needed a break," you chuckled to yourself, "Break..." You shot up. You were only on a break! Realizing that you needed to get back to work, you quickly jumped out of your pod and sprinted to meet up with Dragon.
*(A/N: I don't know if that exist that or not)
**(A/N: if you look up a picture of a Japanese capsule hotel, this is what I meant)
