dan followed me inside my apartment.

"go ahead and sit down anywhere, sorry for the mess," i said, pulling his coat off for him and throwing it over a chair.

"it's not messy, don't worry. better than my house," dan commented, looking around and sitting on the couch, fixing his light blue skirt. i could hardly keep my eyes off him.

"hmm, sure. anyways, what game d'ya wanna play? i have halo, mario ka-"

"mario kart!" dan interrupted. "mario kart for sure!"

i grinned. "sounds good," i said, popping the disc into the wii. "i take it you've played this before?"

"duh! only a million times. and i am the champion, you'll never beat me," he bragged, taking a remote from my hand.

"oh really? i'll have you know i'm the reigning champ in my family."

dan laughed sarcastically, choosing his character as toad. "i'll believe that when you win."

"quite the bragger, aren't you?" i chuckled, choosing bowser as my own character.

the pastel boy shrugged, smiling. "maybe. got a problem?"

"nope. just choose the track and we'll get this over and done with."

dan pointed his wii remote at the tv and chose rainbow road. "this good?"

i bit my lip, recognizing this as my worst track. "yep. doesn't matter, i'll beat your ass no matter the track."
