I heard a low growl and screamed. A giant black aura filled an area behind me. It hissed and growled at me. It was a wrath. Wrath's were creatures that could devour anything. They say when they surround you and engulf you, you feel like you're being bitten in a thousand places. They also said that Iris when through that fifty times. It started getting closer, then came at a lightening speed. I screamed again and began running. My dress flew back behind me, flowing around me. Then I ran into the woods, an area I didn't know too well. Twigs, branches, and thorns got in my hair and cut my skin. Some of my dress ripped, my hair half came down, and my feet became covered in mud. I turned to see if it was chasing me, which it was a couple of feet behind me. I ran faster, focusing everything on my speed. I dodged trees and dangling branches. I hit a couple of branches, causing me to fall down in a big hole of mud. The wrath was now in front of me. Everything told me to scream, to scream my lungs out. By not just any scream of fear, a scream of control. I let a high pitched scream to show dominance. The wrath stopped moving closer. I continued screaming and rose to my feet. I felt my teeth sharpen, my nails get longer, and my vision became better. I could see the full body of the wrath. The wrath began backing up. Blood began running down my face. That's when I realized it wasn't the only one. Pain began traveling all up and down my body. Now my screams stopped. I couldn't open my mouth anymore or move. They were all right, it felt like a million things with sharp teeth was biting me all over. The only thing I managed to yell before things went dark was one name. Jace.

"Ainsley!" I slowly opened my eyes. Strong arms were cradling me and the beautiful face of Jace Wayland was staring right at me. "Ainsley, what happened?' I couldn't speak. He was here. Did he hear me call his name? I didn't realize I had said that out loud until he replied, "I couldn't hear it clearly. I just heard ace, but I knew it was you. I caught your scent and came running. I realize he was walking while carrying me. I couldn't help but stare at his eyes. I wish I could just forget about the rest of the world and just enjoy being in his arms, but I couldn't. I was just attacked by a wrath and I had no clue how I wasn't dead. Before I could dwell on in it any further, Chris and Adne appeared. Chris went up to us, "What happened?"

"She was attacked by wrath."

"It was more that one wrath." Adne began looking at my body, "Jace, take her to the infirmary, Bonnie should be able to speed up the healing process. Chris and I will go look for the wraths." Jace nodded and took off running. The wind blew my hair around and I began to get cold. When I shivered, Jace stopped and took off his jacket. He put it over me like a blanket.

Bonnie stared at me, "You should be dead."

"I know."

"How the hell did you scare them away?"

"I don't know." Bonnie said a couple of spells and I started feeling better. Jace sat beside me, refusing to leave me. Bonnie sighed, "You must be one tough bitch if you survived a wrath attack. Most supernaturals die. Even some meganaturals." I couldn't put my finger on what scared the wraths away. It was either my screaming or they got bored with me and left me to die. Either way I survived and that is what counts. Bonnie told me I need to take a shower, change into comfy clothes, and then go to bed. That all sounded wonderful to me. Jace helped me to my room and then to the shower. "Do you want me to stand by the door?"

"No, I think I'm alright." He nodded and walked off, "Holler if you need anything."

"Okay." I shut the door and went to the shower. I turned on the water and took off -=my dress. It was covered in mud and blood. I felt bad for ruining the dress. I took all the bobbie pins and clips out of my hair. I looked in the mirror and noticed a couple of things. One, around my eyes had a goldish tint to it. Two, I had a couple of bite mark scars from the wraths and lots of cuts everywhere. And last, the ends of my hair were stained red from my blood. Hopefully it will wash off. I got into the shower and began shampooing my hair.

After the nice, warm, and wonderful shower, I walked into my bedroom. I opened my dresser and began looking for something comfy to wear. As I began pulling out a shirt I heard a cough behind me. I jumped and screamed. Jace lay spread out on my bed. He had that sly look on his face. I threw my shirt at him, "Get out pervert! I'm naked!"

"Clearly. It's a good look on you." I tried covering myself with the towel, but I was shaking. He laughed, "Embarrassed? I wonder why since you have such a nice body." I grabbed a shirt and pulled it over my head and then pulled on a pair of sweatpants, "Get out Jace!" He smirked, "I'm good." I got onto the bed and flopped down, "Whatever, I don't feel like dealing with you." I pulled the covers over me and turned off my light. It was complete darkness and I had Jace Wayland laying beside me even though I was dating Chris. Jace rolled over, "How many wraths were there Ainsley?"

"I don't know."

"Think hard about it. There was definitely more than two."

"I said I don't know."

"It makes me wonder what type of power you have."

"Don't get all power hungry on me Jace."

"I'm not. I'm totally stronger than you.." I sighed. There was a knock on my door and then it opened, "Hey Ainsley, wanted to see if you wanted to talk-" Chris stared at Jace and me. Jace just sat there silently, "Nevermind." He shut my door and I groaned. "Shouldn't you go chase after him?"

"Do I look like I'm in a good enough condition to chase after him?"

"Not really."

"Exactly." I closed my eyes, "Shut my door when you leave." I let sleep pull me away from the world and into my mind.

I sat on the bed next to Adne, "I mean, it sounds like ya'll were doing nothing."

"Because we weren't. I mean Jace scared me shitless when I was naked, but it's not liked we had sex in the heat of the moment. I just pulled on my clothes and went to sleep since he didn't want to leave my room."

"I think you and Jace would be cute together."

"I'm dating Chris." Adne sighed, "Damn shame too. I think Chris is too soft and clingy sometimes." I groaned, "Well Jace never showed any signs that he liked me romantically and Chris did so I just picked him."

"Jace does have romantic feelings for you. He wouldn't have saved you so many times, he wouldn't talk to you that much, if he didn't, and he definitely wouldn't have been with you all night." I punched Adne, "I know that!" I stared at the ceiling wishing for a do over. Adne got up, "So have you ever killed something?"

"No."

"Want to try?" I laughed, "Wow, creepy much?"

"Come on! We need to discover more about you. What if you're like me and Karissa and can't drink human blood or even eat humans? What if have a mental sickness or if you aren't immortal?"

"Immortal?"

"Everyone here is immortal. You might be the only mortal in this house."

"I thought being immortal was unbalanced?"

"That's the thing. The whole balanced rule doesn't apply to meganaturals. We are completely balanced no matter what."

"How do you test to see if you're immortal?"

"Well you die and if you come back to life you're immortal."

"And if I don't come back?"

"Then you're dead. I think you're mortal though since you're supernatural, where balance does apply." I laughed, "Then let's never test it."

"Deal. I couldn't lose my bestfriend."

"Awe."

"Then I would get bored." I laughed, "Thanks." Adne's messenger beeped. She checked, "Shit, I have a meeting to go to in the meeting hall. Everyone sort of has to go, so you can tag along."

"Even Jace and Skyrim?"

"Everyone that lives in this house, except you, has to go." I nodded.

"It's just some boring meeting that we all have to attend and talk about important stuff." I shrugged, "Got nothing better to do."
