I poured the bag of chips into the green bowl set on the counter. I frowned as the last of the chips came out. I wish there was more. I sighed and walked into the living room. The vanilla colored couch, the one my dad picked out, stood out in the dark brown walls and carpet. I turned on the TV and grabbed the remote. I sat down in my favorite spot, which was directly in front of the TV, and crossed my legs. I set the bowl of chips in my lap and began watching the movie. I've always loved horror films, romance comedies, action thrillers, and my favorite, dramas. I was all about dramas, except not in real life. I try to keep my life's drama to a minimum. Emphasize try. As the trailers started before the movie, I eyed my phone waiting for a certain message. I suppose every teenage life revolves phones and other electronics, but I was never that kind of a person. I could go days without looking at my phone or even using it. Mainly because I didn't have many friends, only two to be precise, and because I'm scared if I look down to stare at my phone, I might miss something that happens in the real world.
Just as the movie began, my phone beeped. I looked down and unlocked the screen. I view the message from my mom Sorry sweetie, won't be home till really late. Don't wait up on me and make sure to lock the door and the windows.. Don't want no strangers entering the apartment at night. Love you., mom. I sat my phone back down and groaned, "She needs to stop overworking herself." I went back to watching the movie. For some reason, I couldn't pay attention. I've stayed home by myself lots and lots of time since I was little, even at night. My mom hasn't told me to lock the door since I was twelve. From then all the way up until now, she never told me to lock the door. For one she always knew I would remember, two you have to buzz up to be able to unlock the apartment doors, and three, I know almost everyone in the building. Also, she told me to lock the windows, which we never did.
I couldn't help but began to feel paranoid. I paused the movie and stood up.The chips and movie were going to have to wait. I went to the front door and looked through the peephole. No one there. I locked the door and walked to the living room windows. I locked the first one and without helping myself, I opened the other one. I leaned over the ledge and looked around. There wasn't any way to get up here. I leaned back and sighed. Right when I went to close the window, my phone started ringing. I jumped, feeling a little scared. To cliche, it's not like the movie Scream. I shook the thought out of my head and answered the phone. "Hello?'
"Hey baby, did you get my text?"
"Yes, you told me to lock the door and windows." There was a slight paused, "I sent another text." I looked at my messages from my mom, "I didn't get it. Are you sure you sent it?"
"Very. I told you to get out of the apartment now." I froze, "Mom, what's wrong?"
"Listen to your mother and get out of the apartment! Right now!" I felt the wind from the outside blow against my back. I felt a sudden chill run up my spine. I slowly turned around, knowing that you never turn around when you feel like someone is behind you. My eyes widened as someone sat on the windowsill. "Get out now-" The call dropped. I stared at the person. Before I could react, they came into the house, grabbed me and jumped out the window. It all happened so fast I dropped my phone and didn't scream at all. I just stared at the person like an idiot. This can't be happening. I've been abducted by some stranger who came in through the window, which is physically impossible since there is no ladder or stairs to climb up. The person began running, still cradling me in their arms, and turning down allies.
Some sense knocked into me and that's when I began to want answers. "Stop! Put me down!" The person hesitated and then stopped. They set me down and faced me. I stared at them, trying to get a better look. They wore all black; black hood, black pants, black boots, and black mask. "Who are you and why did you just kidnap me from my home?" They didn't respond. "Fine then. I refuse to go with you since I don't have answers." I started walking in the direction of my home. I could see the apartment complex in the distance. The person grabbed my hand, trying to pull me back. Just as our hands touched, there was a loud boom. The apartment complex went up in flames. My ears rung from the loudness of the bomb. I couldn't hear a thing. The person began pulling me in the other direction of the apartment complex. I couldn't pull away, let alone move on my own. I was in utter shock. The home I was just in a few moments ago was just bombed. Fear consumed me and I felt as if I was going to faint. Unfortunately, I did which left me in the hands of complete stranger who just so happened to of saved my life.
