I sat outside the boardroom. When Adne said I could tag along, I thought she meant I could go in with them, but no that wasn't the case. It was some secret thing that you had to be invited to. There was hardly anyone else outside, so I was all alone. I got bored pretty fast, so I stood up and began walking around the building. The lady at the front desk kept eyeing me as if I'd steal something. She got a message and looked at me, "You're wanted in the boardroom." I nodded and walked to the door. I grabbed the handle and and slowly turned it. Am I in trouble? Are they going to imprison me for being Irises descendent? I walked in and my eyes widened. Jace, Kol, and C.J. were playing a shooting game on a big flatscreen TV. Karissa, Kurstin, and Ronay were talking and listening to music. Chris and Jackson were playing pool. Adne and Skyrim were in a hot tub. Too top it off, there was other people with them. Five girls surrounded Jace, Kol, and C.J. Two other guys played against Jackson and Chris. Some guys and girls were chilling in the hot tub with Adne and Skyrim. Karissa, Kurstin, and Ronay were talking to some other girls. What the fuck? Bunch of assholes. Adne looked up at me with a smile on her face, "Come on in Ainsley." I glared at each and every one of them. Normally when they went to meetings, it wasn't everyone. So I never asked questions, but this was crazy. I was never invited once. Adne got out of the hot tub and came over to me. "Hey, we have swimsuits in the back if you want to join. Or you can play some video games, pool, or listen to music, or even just-"

"No." She stopped speaking and stared at me. "What's wrong?"

"You lied to me." I felt rage boil up inside of me. I was being left out. "I had been sitting outside of this room, bored out of my mind, for five hours and now you all finally decide to let me in!" Everyone was staring now, watching the catastrophic event that was bound to happen at some point. "I know, total bitch of me. Sorry, but hey-" I slammed my fist into the table, breaking it with the one blow. I grabbed a bottle of alcohol of some sort and stormed out of the room, "Ainsley wait!" I began drinking it until it was empty. I threw the bottle across the room, nearly hitting the lady at the front desk. I walked out of the building and into the streets. I grabbed a railing and held onto it, trying to breathe.

There was a couple of shakes, which was enough to start a big commotion. A giant man with tons of armour came down from the sky, landing right in front of me. The wind started blowing harder, causing my eyes to get watery. "You, descendent of Iris, have finally awaken." I stared in horror at the person before me. There was screams, cries, and shouts of excitement and sadness from the people around. The wind grew stronger, causing my hair to go in my face. Then it grew stronger and stronger it was almost as if I was being picked up off the ground. I held tighter onto the railing. The armoured man just stood in the street, "Descendent of Iris, prepare to meet your ruler." The sky turned a dark gray and clouds filled the sky. The wind grew stronger, causing my feet to come off the ground. I began screaming as lightning began striking down, hitting people. The giant monster turned into a black swarm of what looked like bugs. The trees around began getting torn out of their roots. The doors to the building I just came out of flew open and Jace was outside. He held onto the side of the building. Soon the rest of them came out. The black swarm of bugs began taking form of a person. More strikes of lightning came down, nearly hitting me, twice. I started loosing my grip on the railing. It also started shaking, as if it was going to break. My hands were super sweaty, causing me to slip. The black swarm that had taken on the form of person turned into a girl. Not just any girl either, Iris, the ruler of the universe. Everything stopped. I fell to the ground, hard. Karissa yelled. Her and Adne ran to the street where Iris stood. They threw their arms around her. Iris wasn't paying attention to them though, she was staring directly at me. I stood up, "Now what?" She began walking towards me, causing fear to rake through me. She stood in front of me, staring at me like I was something unseen before. "Ainsley right?"

"Yes."

"Interesting. Do you know who you are?"

"I'm your descendent." She nodded, "Do you know what is to happen to the my descendent that awakens?"

"Bring darkness I guess."

"Yes and something else." She leaned in closer, "You and I are suppose to become one. Now see I would be able to do that, but there is a problem. I'm suppose to merge with someone who is made of light. Honey you are the darkness and evil of this universe itself. You aren't some daughter of a creature created by the devil, you are the devil." My eyes widen. It explains everything.

I stared at the ground, I'm the devil? Iris sat on a throne, wearing a giant diamond crown on her head. She was staring at me, listening to everything going on around us. "I thought there was no one as powerful as you?"

"How can she be the devil?"

"I thought the devil was a guy?"

"This all has to be some cruel joke, right?" Iris shifted ever so slightly, "Ainsley, when you sleep, do you dream?" I shrugged, "I guess sometimes. Don't really remember most. They're really creepy, scary, and weird."

"Where are you?"

"I was at a graveyard talking to a lot of people. Oh and one was where I was at a field where everything was dark and black. I was also killing a lot of people."

"Exactly. I'm sorry everyone, but we can't just let her be free. She is the devil and cursed to bring darkness to the universe. We have to lock her up." My eyes widen, "Just because I have some crazy dreams doesn't mean I'm the fucking devil! You don't get to decide whether I'm free or locked up." I stood up and turned around. There was a snap and I turned back around. Iris was up and scowling. She twirled her fingers and I felt this sudden urge to puke. As I began throwing up, blood started coming out. "Don't ever turn your back to me." I felt anger rise in me and I looked up. Everything I could possibly feel, I felt towards her. She began turning into the black swarm again. Karissa screamed, "Stop!" Adne jumped up and started running towards me. I stopped her in mid run and flung her into the wall. I looked back at Karissa who was trying to touch Iris. I bent my finger back and moved it around. She began crumbling to the ground. Before I could do anything else, I was hit with something and fell to the ground, darkness consuming my vision.
