Stella's POV:
Nick has convinced me that we should go to school so it doesn't seem suspicious. So, we're at school, but I got a text from Marshal that there was a rocking party on 12th Street. Nick said that we should stay one full day in school, something about me liking one of the subjects. I completely forgot what all the subjects were except for first through fifth. First period Bible, which I just zone out of, second period History:Welcome to Snoozleberry Town consisted of 5 people taking naps plus me, third period math, forth period English, and fifth period is P.E. which I am totally ok with because it is fun. Usually during the middle to end of P.E. we leave to get to a party. "Ok, we'll stay. Let's see if I like this subject that you're talking about." I told Nick with a sarcastic look on my face."YES!!! LET'S GO!!!" Nick screamed, feeling accomplished that he won our debate.
"But we have to tell Skyler that we are staying and that she can stay or go to the party. And if she does go, to bring me back a drink and a burger if they have any." I said, popping Nick's bubble.
"M'kay. Let's go." Nick said, dragging me around like a girl with her favorite doll. After fifth period, we found Skyler and told her everything. She was a bit bummed out that we weren't coming but she didn't want to stay so she left. We went to sixth period which was science. Never really been to science class before, and I was amazed at the classroom. It had anatomy charts, microscopes, chemistry flasks and chemicals, and the books were big and heavy. The teacher took attendance,"Stella Kelllion?"
"Here?" I responded feeling a bit weird. The teacher looked at me and marked me present. "Nick Lizekler?"
"HERE!!!" Nick said with an enthusiastic face and voice. The teacher marked him present and continued on. "Skyler Lizekler?" No answer. "Skyler Lizekler?!" Still no answer. "Nick, where's your sister?" The teacher suddenly turned to Nick.
"She's sick, Mrs. Usolaylite. Really sick." Nick lied, but to everyone else it seemed like the truth.
"Ok." Mrs. Usolaylite responded, marking Skyler absent. She continued with the name calling until she said every name. She told us to buddy-up with someone and go to a table. I immediately went after Nick and wrapped my arms around his arm. "You're with me." I whispered in his ear.
"Wouldn't want it any other way." Nick smirked. I rolled my eyes and we walked to a table. When everyone was seated, the teacher placed a frog on everyones table and said to dissect the frogs and organize the internal organs by what you see in your books and put them in the correct container. Ooooh, this is a interesting class. "Nick, you were right about me liking this class." I leaned towards him and whispered.
"I know I was right. That's why I asked if you would stay." Nick whispered back, then turning to me. "I've known you for the longest time, I know what makes you tick and what makes you attentive. Just some things I picked up over the years." Nick leaned and whispered in my ear, then kissed my cheek and handed me the knife. "Start cutting, hon." He said and started opening the book to the frog anatomy page. I ran my finger against the sharp part of the knife. Such a precise cutting angle. Shiny and spotless, for safe cutting when dissecting. Perfect for a medical worker on the scene of a very serious injury, but the blade has to remain even shinier and cleaner than this. I started cutting the frog, the squishing of the body and blood slowly trickling down each side of the frog as I peirce through it deeper and cut down the stomach. "Stella, be careful. Don't cut too deep. And I saw you running your finger against the knife blade. Don't do that again before you cut yourself and give me a panic attack." Nick told me, not looking up from the book.
