I found out that I was really bad at cooking but therefor much better at sewing. And like that I had to sit in a sticky chamber the whole day and sew beautiful but damaged dresses. As I made a pause and wanted to go to the kitchen I overheard a conversation between Liv and a scullion. So I stopped behind a corner and listened secretly: "Liv did you already hear from the ball which will take place this evening?" "Yes, and the best thing is, that it is a fancy-ball and everyone of this palace is invited to come!"I didn't think much about is. Of course a fancy-ball is a great event but I didn't have a dress anyway. I quietly went back to my work but I didn't make much progress, because then Anne rushed in and was eager to talk to me. "Did you already hear of the fancy-ball?", she asked me. I nodded silently and without considering my bad mood she babbled on: "I'm perplexed that August organized a ball for all the inhabitents of this palace, because he's actually a very bad king. You could do a trifle wrong and he'd punish you." I still didn't know why she was here. "He must have realised that you're gone. He needs all the members of the royal family to feel safe that none gets in his way." Slowly I started to understand. If I don't go to ball, he'll realise immediately that I wasn't just the lonely wench. And like that he would have won. But I didn't want to let him win like that. There was only a little problem: I neither had a dress nor a mask. The dog must have seen my clueless face, because she told me to wait for her in my room. I still don't feel comfortable talking to a living animal but I slowly get used to it. With that request I let my work be what it was and went to my room.
