Twelve: Endless Halls

Endless Halls will be a series of stories about the life of a young woman named Mia in the abandoned maze like realm known as "The Halls". Our heroine has lived a life of scavenging for food and water, as well as anything else that will help make her time in the Halls slightly less miserable. For a long time she has lived by herself.

The start of the story begins with a dramatic part. Rosie, a young mother of a new born baby named Mary Irina Alicia, Mia for short, has to leave her beautiful Mia in an expirement called Experiment E.

While testing her, the scientist saw that she has the power. So, he made Rosie believe that the baby is dead, and she needed to be thrown in the maze-like realm called "Endless Halls". But Rosie refused. She wanted to bury her in the graveyard. The scientist got disappointed, so he took Rosie far away, as her baby Mia, got injected. The injection was something that could make her grow fast. Day by day, she would grow a year older.

As she got sent, she was placed in the middle of the endless halls, as the horrifying man-eating monsters kept ignoring her. Because it wasn't her time to die. It was controlled. But once she turns twenty years old, it will be uncontrolled, forever. Plus, when she turns twenty, the serum in her will disappear and she'll be not growing day by day after.

Of course, Mia grows every twenty four hours. Her beauty upgrades. The twentieth day came, and she was twenty. She was blonde hair, blue eyed pretty girl.

Mia was walking around the maze, as she saw a human-sized square hole.

She looked inside and saw a way down. She doesn't know what that is, so she just left. As she turned around, a big monster's eyes were staring at hers. She could almost smell the monster's breathe. The monster has metal legs, and a monstrous body.

Mia's heart was beating fast.

"Mia, Mia, Mia. You have turned twenty years old! Now is the time you learn to survive. Now, starting today, this halls will be darker, more monstrous and haunted."

Mia ran, and like the monster said, everything was dark afterwards. She was alone, scared, and cold. She fell asleep, and woke up the next morning. Someone, was sleeping across her, a guy. She crawled towards him, and saw his face. The man has brown hair, pointed nose, and blue eyes. As he wake up, he sat straight, and looked at Mia.

Mia walked backwards, away from him. The guy stood up, walked towards her. He kneeled, and looked at Mia.

"Who are you?" Mia asked.

"I'm Lit. Who are you?" The so-called-Lit asked.

"Mia." She replied.

A while after, they got to know each other and they talked and walked around.

"So, how long have you been here?" Lit asked.

"I don't know. I only knew myself when I was five. How about you?" Mia asked back.

"Just today, I think."

"Huh?"

"I was sent here. Like you."

"Why?"

"I don't know. All I remembered was the whole country has gone to chaos."

Before Mia could say anything, something fell on her shoulder. It was blood. Where did the blood came from?

As they looked up, they saw a lady, with a white long dress, and her hair was covering her face. The face was full of blood. They ran, and sprinted.

I tripped, and fell on Lit. He stared at me, as I lost contact with him. I sat up, and looked at the back. The woman disappeared. We both stood up, and continued walking around. It was almost night, and she wondered why was it almost night when the sun just rose up hours ago.

They ran and stopped when they saw the moon.

"Maybe we should stop here." Mia said.

They sat on the ground, and looked at the sky. Mia was feeling a little dizzy, but she stopped it. Suddenly, a loud growl came somewhere around them. They stood up, followed the noise.

Roars were everywhere. Lit and Mia looked at their surroundings, figuring out where the sound came from. Suddenly, Lit got dragged by something through the wall. It has blood on the floor. Mia tried everything to destroy the wall.

Then an idea came to her head, even if it's painful. She raised her right hand, and banged it on the wall. She didn't stop, until her hand bleeded, but her bones didn't break. The wall began to crack, and broke down. Then she realized she has a power---to break a wall.

She went pass, and saw a secret tunnel. She followed the blood, until there was nothing. She saw a big bloody hand print on the door. As she opened the door, she saw Lit lying on the floor, and beside him was the monster that dragged him, lying on the floor, dead. Lit wasn't dead, because he was still breathing. But he was unconscious. Mia shook him, to wake him up. Unfortunately, he didn't wake up, but he was still breathing.

Mia stayed in the room with him. She didn't leave the place, until the next day, when he woke up.

"What happened to you?" Mia asked.

"Dragged. By the this beside me. But I didn't see how. I was asleep. I knew it. Cause the place was dark, and I was walking by myself."

"What? You were dreaming?"

"I think so. That's when I saw this woman. She was the same woman we saw yesterday."

"How could you know it's already yesterday?" Mia laughed.

"I just guessed. Look, I know this is going to hurt you, but, I think today is my last day. I saw a ghost, Mia."

"Lit, even if you saw a ghost it doesn't mean---"

"No, Mia. She talked to me. She's gonna take me any minute now."

Mia cried. She wiped her tears, and looked at Lit. "How about one thing for you. Make me do something that will make you happy. Just for our last moments. Even if I just met you YESTERDAY."

Mia laughed. "One----kiss." Lit whispered.

Mia did what Lit wanted. She kissed Lit on the lips, as a tear fell from Mia's eyes. She felt Lit's love. As she let Lit go, he stopped breathing and died. Mia cried and cried, until she got grabbed by a woman, the woman in white. I tried to shake off to escape, but her hands grabbed my foot tightly.

Then everything turned white. A while after, I saw a light, appeared right in my face. I heard woman's voice was echoing. She was talking to me. Now I saw her face. Her hair was blonde, and she was wearing a white coat.

"I'm glad you're alive. I'm Paige Alexanders. You didn't just save yourself, Mia. You saved the whole world from the evil."

"What? I don't understand." Mia said back.

"That evil scientist, Dereck Atkins, made your mother believe you were dead so he would throw you in the halls. He saw you have the ability to save the world by surviving in the realm, when the universe turned into chaos. People were infected by this virus called Experiment E. The E means End. That experiment ended mankind. But when you turned twenty in twenty days, you saved the lives of billions of people. You're one of the bravest people in the world that has conquer those monsters in the halls."

Mia told everything about Lit, monsters and the woman. Paige explained who the woman was, why she took Lit away from Mia. The lady was Mia's mother Rosie. Rosie spent her life in an experiment. Rosie destroyed the experiment, so everything would be in peace. But she got herself in the hidden halls, in the realm, with no thing knew. She didn't know herself. Even her daughter, Mia. But she saved Mia from the halls which was about to collapse.
