I knew I shouldn't have stayed out this late. I should have been home by now. Earlier today, after school, I went to my friend Grace's house so we could study for our history test together. Our test is tomorrow and my parents will literally kill me if I don't do well on it. They're kind of strict when it comes to my grades, but I know they're only like that because they want what's best for me and for me to get a good job later in life. My parents know that I'm on my way home, I texted them and told them I was leaving Grace's house, so at least they won't scream at me for that.

I was now walking through town at eight at night trying to get home as soon as I could. I hated the dark. You never know what could be out there and that's what scares me. It also doesn't help that the Jet Black Hearts gang, the most dangerous gang in the country happens to rule my city at night. I don't know exactly what would happen if I run into them, but I don't want to find out. I've heard so many things about them that even if I don't know them, I'm still afraid of them. As afraid as I am though, I can't help but wonder if what everyone says about them is true or not. Do they really kill for fun? Are they really totally heartless? Wait, no. They can't be. They have to have some good in them, everyone does. You just have to find it and bring it out so that everyone else can see it too.

During my walk home, I happened to pass an alley. The alley was dark with only a little bit of light in it, but I could hear what sounded like fighting coming from it. I quickly looked into the alley while walking by and saw the symbol on their jackets that I knew to stay away from. The Jet Black Hearts gang was there.

There were four of them. The sounds of yelling and groaning in pain scared the shit out of me, so I started to walk faster. Right before I looked away I happened to lock eyes with one of them. He was tall and scary looking. Wait, don't say that, don't judge people Sophie, you know that's not right. He could be a nice guy and maybe he has a reason for him and his friends beating that guy up.

The guy I locked eyes with was pale, with dark green eyes, messy black hair, an eyebrow piercing, and he had his ears pierced. He was wearing a black leather jacket with a black shirt. He was also wearing black skinny jeans and black combat boots. He looked really mad with his red face and his jaw and fists clenched. I quickly looked away after that and started running home.

Thankfully, I made it home safe and sound. As soon as I got home I ran to my room and jumped on my bed, ready to lay down and go to sleep. I know it's early, but I'm really tired after studying and maybe sleeping will get my mind off of the fight I saw and the guy I locked eyes with.
