"Mom I'm home!" I yelled as I walked into the house, closing the door behind me.

"Okay! Thanks for doing the shopping Sophie." My mom said, sitting at the kitchen table while glancing at her Taste of Home cooking magazine. My mom is always trying to find new recipes to get better at cooking. Personally, I think my mom is an amazing cook, but she doesn't agree.

I walked into the kitchen and set the bags on the counter.

"Sophie, you should start working on your homework, I'll take care of the groceries." My mom said, closing her magazine and getting up from her chair.

"Okay mom are you sure you don't want any help?"

"I'm sure."

"Okay. I'll be in my room then." I said, walking out of the kitchen and to the stairs to go up to my room.

I like to think that my room is nice. My walls are covered in posters of my favorite bands: All Time Low, Panic! At The Disco, The 1975, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and Twenty One Pilots. My room has white carpet on the floor and I have a white desk with my laptop on it along with some office supplies for when I do my homework. I have my white dresser that matches my white nightstand that sits next to my bed and has my phone charger and my teal lamp on it.

I walk into my room grabbing my laptop off of my desk and then plopping into my bed. While waiting for my computer to turn on, I text Grace.

Me: Hey! I have to tell you something but you have to promise me that you won't freak out.

Grace: Okay now tell me.

Me: Promise me you won't freak out first.

Grace: Okay I promise. Now spill!!

Me: Okay so I went shopping today and I met a guy from the Sadistic Sinners gang.

Grace: Please tell me you ignored him.

Me: Um... I would but that would be lying and my mother taught me not to lie.

Grace: Ugh. Of course you talked to him. Sophie you need to be careful he's dangerous and I don't want to lose my best friend.

Me: I know. Although he really doesn't seem that bad...

Grace: Sophie! Seriously he's dangerous have you not heard the stories!?!?

Me: Yeah I have. I won't talk to him anymore I guess.

Grace: Thank you. I just don't want a dead best friend.

Me: I know. Anyway I have to go I have to do my homework you know how my parents are.

I closed out of the texts between my best friend and I and stared at the new contact in my phone. Should I text him? What if he really is dangerous? No Sophie, he didn't seem scary earlier so it's fine. Ugh. I really want to know more about these gangs and I guess this is the only way.

I quickly typed out a text and sent it, hoping that I wouldn't regret it.

Me: Hey Travis! This is Sophie the girl from the store.

Travis: Hey Sophie! I didn't think that you would actually text me but we should hang out. How about tonight?

I stared at the text. Tonight? Doesn't that seem a little soon. Oh well I don't have anything else to do.

Me: Sure! But it would have to be after dinner though my parents would kill me if they find out I went out with a friend without finishing my homework. They're kinda strict about that...
