"Pack!" - My mom screamed for the umpteenth time, her voice echoed through the now almost empty room. I huffed and go out bed.

I lost count on how many times we changed cities. I placed the last boxes of my room on the first floor and went to the kitchen to make breakfast for Alex who had woken up.

"I finished. Alex probably owns more stuff than the two of us combined." said my mom as she entered the room. "All the basics are packed, we'll leave in an hour. I'll hire movers to collect the rest."

"Where are we going?" I asked, trying to not sound interested.

"Mystic Falls." she said "Small town outside Virginia."

"Small town, sounds fun!" I answered with sarcasm

"Cheer up, honey. 'Mystic' is part of the name. This town might surprise you!" she said with an excited voice. I cringed and left the room.

We arrived to town early the next day.

The house was fine, big and spacious with four rooms in the second floor. My mom took the first one with its own private room, of course. She put Alex's stuff in the room next to hers. I went for the room at the bottom, so I can put music on much louder than normal with no one screaming for me to turn down the volume. I went downstairs and poured myself a bowl of cereal and sat on the couch. A few minutes later, Alex came into the room with her hands clasped on her back, and big sad eyes staring at me. "Can you take me to the park?. I'm bored and mom is asleep."

"Fine, let's go." I sighed

--

As soon I sat on a bench . The square was small but pretty and quiet. Concentrated on my thoughts I didn't notice someone sat next to me until they spoke, making me jump.

"Hi, sorry to scare you. You must be the new family who moved right?" Said the girl next to me. She looked around my age, a bit taller than me, and pretty. She had long and wavy blond hair, blue eyes, and a friendly smile.

"...yeah. We've arrived this morning." I said "How did you notice?"

"Small town, everyone knows each other." she answered simply "I'm Caroline Forbes, by the way. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Emilia Carlyle," when I said hi, Alex came running toward us "And this is Alexandria, she's my little sister. Alexandria meet Caroline."

"Hi, call me Alex, Alexandria is way too 'antiqueed'" she answered giving me a look, she hated when they called her Alexandria. - "Can we eat something? I'm hungry."

"Antiquated,'" Caroline smiled "And there's an ice cream truck a block from here, wanna come?"

"Yeah, let's go! Please Emily can we go?" my sister asked me jumping up and down.

"Sure." I said. I can't say no to a two-year-old.

---

On our way back Emily appeared to have putted ice cream everywhere but her mouth. Why did she always choose chocolate? it's  hard to clean.

"Alex, you're a mess." I said, trying to fix the problem.

Caroline giggled "I'm sorry but I think the shirt's doomed."

"Yeah, I guess we'll head home, we need to get the house in order." I said giving up. "Good meeting Caroline."

"I'll see you tomorrow, bye Emily. Goodbye Alex." she said

"You are a lost case Alex." She ignored me.

Back home, mom was waiting for us with the dinner ready.  I sat while she kindly served me a glass of coke. Wait. What?. Coca-cola? She hates it, way too unhealthy and all that jazz.
