Teacher P.O.V
For 10 years of teaching at the same school, same students and subject, never in my life did I ever tried to ask that girl. The girl very different from her classmate, the one who's has good average but low in socialization.
She is the girl who tends to be left alone, the one who doesn't show emotion, the one who stayed silent and hide.
Her name is Alona..
And this is her story....
She isn't known by her name, but how alone She is in life. From the beginning of her time, from the day of her birth She was alone. Her mother died on delivering her in this world, while my Dad? He blame her for her Mom's death that he just left her at the hospital and take the mother's body instead. One of the nurse finds her Pitty, so she adopted Alona as her own.
She name her Alona from the word "Alone".
Although the nurse did adopted her as her child, she is too busy at work that she tends to leave her at the house alone. Although she still gives time to play and share God's words, she isn't really watched or given enough attention. But for Alona, she understands why she has to, so they could have something to eat, to live and of course for her curriculum at school.
Speaking of school.. Well where ever I go, I always find her alone. I really don't know why they don't like her but, it's just that every time She tried to talk or make friends, they always give her that look like they do not really wanna talk or anything. Sometimes I hear them making rumors about her which I scold them all the time. Alona do not really show attention or anything, just her and an old bible on her hand, like she doesn't give an eye or anything.
I never had ten guts to ask her how is she or does she want to be accompanied until she turn Grade 10. All this time I thought she was alone, but.. I was wrong.. All of us do.
One day, when I finally had the strength to accompany the loner Alona, I saw her at the same oak tree she tends to stay. There I saw her sitting, bible book open through her palm, grey eyes attentively lock at every truth written in the words of God. I sat beside her.
"Hello Alona." I greeted her, warm smile drawn upon my lips as I look at the child.
"Hello teacher." She look at me, emotionless face was seen from her grey eyes.
"How are you?" I ask her. I expect she won't answer, thinking that she might not wish to tell how sad her life is, or maybe she would tell but in a very mysterious way. I thought those would be her answer.. But I widen when she said.
"I'm happy.." She smiled.
"Are you sure?" I insist. "You look too serious reading that bible and you look so alone in here. So why would you be happy if you are alone?" I added.
"Why would I be alone?" She look at me with her head tilting in confusion.
"Hmph?" Same as her, confusion conjures inside my mind. "You tend to stay out from your classmates." I mention.
"Happiness is not just found in the presence of Friends, Blessing or the things that make us happy." She close her eyes. "My classmates, they have many friends, but they are lonely."
"Are you.. Lonely?" I ask her.
She look at me with a smile. "Why would I be lonely if God himself is my Bestfriend?" She ask.
I stay silent. Never in my life did I ever get this silent.
- Some people tend to be alone, holding the bible and keeps their time praying and studying the bible. They are the people who everyone judge... Mistaken for being alone. Well I tell you.. These children are not lonely nor alone.. For they find happiness in the presence of God.
Many have friends, but they are lonely. Some are rich, but they aren't fill. Some have food but still hungers. Many have water but still thirst. But only some has God and was never lost.
God is everything you need. He is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father without him. He is the provider, the lover and the maker. Your food, your achivements, your ideas and all.. All comes from God.
Doesn't mean someone's alone, it's lonely. For so many accompanied people are lonely.
God gives the perfect happiness, perfect love, perfect life and perfect advise.
Seeking God is where your heart belongs.
