Chapter Four: Disaster Strikes

Everyone seemed be running outside. I knew why. The building was falling down as if an earthquake just happened. I felt like running with the other people, but I can't. And that makes me worried. I looked up. Qi Qi was trying to balance on the pad. The staff was trying to unbuckle her an get out of this disaster, but he failed. I don't like this part. He accidentally pushed the girl, making her fall down. But the rope was still attached to her gear which was fine. Suddenly, the holding the rope thing cracked. Qi Qi was half way down. Now this is called falling.

The girl felled down to the ground. She looked unconscious. This was a two choice time: Shall I save Qi Qi? Or shall I save myself? But I loved that girl so much that I chose to risk my life, saving her. I know that is such a stupid choice. But what shall I do? Watch someone die? Of course not!

I ran towards the unconscious girl. I checked her pulse. Great she is still breathing! I carried her over my back and ran towards the exit. Suddenly, some bricks blocked my way! Dust was spreaded everywhere. All of the stations fell down. I was only aware with the Maze and the Power station. Why? Because those kind of stations have metal! And I don't want to get hit on the head by those stuff! Suddenly I got hit on the head by these metal things on the maze. I passed out.

It was weird to wake up on a statue. Plus it is wired to wake up with a big heavy metal on your legs. And it is also wired to have a no one around you that you supposed to have someone around you. Those things happened to me after I passed out. Also I don't remember what happened just know. My parents. Where are they? Suddenly I remembered: They are traveling the world.

I heard some hard coughs around the outside, making me realize that I was on the District 21 statue. It was crashed down on the floor. I was only thirty center meters from the statue I was on to the floor.

So I tried to get up. But no use. My legs hurt like they got barbecued on steaming sun. There I heard those harsh coughs again. It might be someone alive!

I galloped on the floor and followed the harsh coughs sound. It was coming from the broken big blocks from the building. Someone must be in between, I thought, I need a closer look. I went near the blocks. And still I heard coughing sounds around that place.

I closed one eye and looked in between the two blocks. And there I saw, a girl. She looked familiar. Her face and her light blue ripped T-shirt looked familiar. Suddenly I realized it was the girl I loved, Qi Qi.

Her body was small enough to breath in between the blocks. Qi Qi's legs were stuck at the very end. I decided to pull her body out. Despite my legs hurt, I pulled hard as I can until I went flying of the empty road. I accidentally let go of Qi Qi and then she went flying of the wall, which was the only thing not broken.

I ran straight to her, despite my legs hurt. I checked her pulse; she is still breathing. I tried to wake her up, but she tilted her head all the time when I touched her cheeks. That was the thing that annoyed me in anyone. I looked at the building; it was on fire! The mall was crashed down, even District 21.

'Qi Qi?' I said, shaking her body, 'Wake up!'

'Stop it mom!' she suddenly said, titling her body to my right, 'I am sleepy!'

'Qi Qi will you stop joking?' I said, getting annoyed, 'This is serious. Wake up!'

'What? The house is on fire?' said the unconscious girl, with her eyes still shut, 'I smell smoke!'

'Qi Qi I am not you MOM!' I shouted, angrily, 'I AM...' I stopped. Qi Qi was shaking her body in fright. As if her mother was scolding her.

'I am Drix,' I said, calming down, 'The mall is on fire and errr your legs looks bad.'

Finally the girl opened her eyes, but slowly. 'W-W- What ha-happened?' She asked, 'Why do-does my legs- hurt?'

'You fell down with the rope cracked at the Free fall,' I said, 'I saved you but I passed out I lost you.'

'After I woke up, I felt my legs hurt under the broken blocks,' I continued, 'Then I went for searching for you. Suddenly I heard harsh coughing sounds and it was coming from you. You were in between two big blocks. With my strength, I pulled you out.'

'So you saved me?' she asked, admiring the story I was telling, which was true. 'Yeah,' I said.

'That's cool.'

I looked at my broken watch. Three thirty. I guessed that I had been passed out for two hours or so. Well, the fire was still going on the building. Where were these firefighters and polices or even ambulances?! Suddenly I felt someone lying on my right shoulder. I turned; Qi Qi was lying on my shoulder. She seemed to be crying.

'Everything okay?' I asked her, nudging her head.

'No,' she sniffed, wiping a tear on her face, 'I can't feel my legs.'

'Then how did you get to my shoulder?' I said, 'You need to feel your legs to move here!'

Then Qi Qi looked at me as if I am a dummy, 'I used my arms to move here dummy,' she said, not crying anymore, 'Think before you say.'

'Sorry,' I said, rubbing my head. The girl giggled quietly. Suddenly the pillar of the unbroken wall cracked. The roof began to fall down, 'QI QI!' I shouted, 'RUN!'

'I CAN'T!' She shouted, 'REMEM-.' Before she could finish her sentence, I pushed her backwards so that she couldn't get hit by the falling roof. After that I tried to run, but it was too late.

'Drix?' I heard a girls voice, 'Are you there?' I struggled to open my eyes although it was grey in the sky. When I opened my eyes, I saw the rain was falling. I also saw that we were under a unbroken roof.

'What happened?' I asked, trying to get up, but got pulled down by the girl. 'Your legs got hit by the roof,' she said, patting my legs, 'And you passed out for about thirty minutes.'

'Has anybody come to help yet?' I asked, looking at the broken, wet building. 'Not yet,' said Qi Qi, 'Probably soon.'

Suddenly I heard sirens. It was coming from the road in front of the whole chaos. Finally. Help! Some police officers went out of the car and went on searching. The fire fighters were wetting the building (and the rain).

Suddenly two police officers went towards us, 'You OK?' he asked. We nodded. 'HEY! ADA ORANG SINI!' The other police shouted at the ambulance. They speak Bahasa Malaysia. Then four rescuers ran over to us and carried us to the truck.

We were placed on beds inside the truck. It was kind of comfortable. Suddenly the truck began to move. We were heading to the hospital.

Finally.... Hope.

I woke up inside a room. No truck noise. No bed squeaking noise. Just some whispering. I realized that I was in a hospital room. I looked around for Qi Qi, but she wasn't anywhere

'Awake already?' I heard a gentleman's voice. I turned around. It was a doctor. I nodded. 'Hi. My name is Dr Kilo,' he said, shaking my hands, 'I see you had a very bad injuries.'

Wait. What does he mean?

'I have a surprise for you,' Dr Kilo said, 'Take off your blanket and see.' I stared at him in one eye. He nodded. I pulled my blanket over and saw...
